Everyone has probably had some experience with watercolor painting at least once in their childhood, perhaps in a school class. However, as we grow older, many of us feel that there are few opportunities to come into contact with watercolor painting in our daily lives.
Taichi NakamuraBorn in 1982, Maniac River, Inc. is an artist who has been working on watercolor paintings without interruption. He has selected approximately 160 of his works and will release his first full-fledged book of works, "MANIAC RIVER," which includes a newly written essay.
The book depicts dreamlike and realistic urban and suburban landscapes, and the people, animals, and spirits that live there, in a style all its own.

I continue to make paintings in the hope of seeing the universal human activity beyond the distant space. Whenever I paint, I always place importance on the "depth" of the painting. It is not the illusion of the surface of the painting, but the style in which people live their lives in their own way. And in order to go deeper and further than what I can see or touch, there is the texture of color and paint, the encounter with various coincidences, and the construction of fulfilling thoughts.
