I have never heard of anyone who is not excited about Hana-Kin. Except for those who have weekdays off, those who work at black-owned companies, and the Friday ANN staffer, Myojo Shimotsuki.

According to one theory, the term "Huakin" originated in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Since most Japanese companies have a two day weekend, and many businessmen take weekends off, it seems to have originated from the idea that Friday night, the day before a vacation, can be spent as luxuriously and relaxingly as a flower arrangement.

The name of the magazine is "Kakin Karuta", which started as a web Series in a men's fashion magazine. It is updated every Friday, and the contents are texts and illustrations by two men who enjoyed the bubble era, sometimes savory, sometimes melancholy, and sometimes inspiring.

Now that we have completed the publication of the karuta from "A" to "N," we have decided to commercialize them. The company commissioned "Kyoto Oishi Tengu-do," a long-established karuta company, to produce the product, and they are more than enthusiastic about the project.

A commemorative event will be held to coincide with the launch. The title of the event is "Kaze Soyogu Musashi Koyama no Kessen ni Chest Aoki naru Kaumo Yoshi" (The Wind Breezes Over Musashi-Koyama and the Battles Are Breathtaking). The event will be held on Sunday, April 14, at the Musashi KoyamaFLOATIn ".

Karuta will be sold throughout the day, and at 12:00, 14:00, and 16:00, a free participation karuta tournament will be held.

The winner will receive an original karuta (newly written and shipped at a later date) and a set of "Huakin Karuta". What a bubbly prize!

As food, Mari Kobayashi, former editor/writer of HOUYHNHNM's, will serve biryani and coffee, her specialty. Soft drinks and beer will also be available for purchase.

The person who came up with the idea of Hwagane probably never thought that such an event would take place in Musashikoyama in 2021.
