. There was a breathtaking view of the night sky. Light, sound, and performance became a trinity, making up a special night, "STAR ISLAND FUKUOKA 2024The "Gathering of the Fireworks" was a night of 13,000 fireworks, lasers, drones, and even dancers performing to music, giving the audience a sense of the new possibilities for entertainment. Such an event is coming to Odaiba on June 1 and 2. What kind of event is it? To answer the question, here is a report from Fukuoka.
A new entertainment with light, sound, and performance landed in Fukuoka for the first time.
STAR ISLAND" synchronizes traditional Japanese fireworks with cutting-edge technologies such as 3D sound, laser lighting, and performances by dancers to create a new experience. The event was held for the first time in Fukuoka on Saturday, May 11, 2010.
The venue was Jigyohama, a 30-minute train ride from Tenjin. . It is a point with a spectacular view overlooking Hakata Bay. The calm, wave-free beach, combined with the mid-May weather, created a very chill mood. The day was blessed with fine weather, and the entire venue was filled with a pleasant atmosphere.
The venue opened at 3:00 p.m., and the crowd was so large that it was impressive to see how the place became lively as soon as the venue was filled with people. To keep visitors occupied until 7:00 p.m., when the fireworks display was to begin, a DJ booth played pleasant beats and street performers entertained the crowd with their performances. Of course, there will also be a variety of food and drink vendors. Visitors can relax on the beach while waiting for the show to start.
Many families could be seen that day, and I felt the high level of hospitality in the fact that a kids' space had been prepared for them. The secret of the cozy atmosphere must be in the fact that there was a garbage disposal area, and the entire venue was kept clean by staff members who were stationed around the area. . Anyway, it was a clean and peaceful event.
An installation by artist YOSHIROTTEN was also held at Mizuho PayPay Dome Fukuoka, located next to the venue. The inside of the dome was filled with a fantastic mood, and ambient music played as visitors slowly sat on the ground to appreciate his work.
People came to the venue with a variety of thoughts and feelings.
The atmosphere of the event is created not only by the contents prepared by the organizers, but also by the happy vibes of the people who are enjoying the event. So, here are some snaps of the visitors!

The combination of 13,000 fireworks, 1,000 drones and lasers, and music and dancers will create a spectacular story and a sight you have never seen before. I believe that this is not just a fireworks display, but a new experience in life. I hope that people will enjoy the event as if it were a new experience in their lives, and not just a fireworks display.

I'm participating as a DJ today. I will be DJing during the sunset time, so my music will not be the main attraction, but I want to create a space that is part of the scenery and create a sense of togetherness. I will do my best to create an even more pleasant atmosphere!

. it's fun to have these festival-like events during the pleasant season. In the summer, this is the kind of place where barbecues and such are held, but it has a different atmosphere from that time, and it's really nice. I'm also looking forward to the fireworks!
Shinnan / Student
. "I came here today with my grandmother. I am going to study abroad this fall, so I am happy to be able to make memories with my family like this.
Hirokazu Kawano / Hair stylist
. "I came here today with my family, and the atmosphere is great because there are so many families with children just like myself, and you can see so many smiling faces of the children. And we're all looking forward to the fireworks afterwards."
. 13,000 spectacular fireworks soaring into the sky.
After enjoying the various contents, I realized that it was time for dusk. As you can see, the sky is glowing with a beautiful gradation of colors, and the mood is becoming more dramatic.
At 7:00 p.m., when it was getting dark, the main event of the day finally started. Loud and mysterious music played, and dancers in costumes reminiscent of ancient peoples appeared on stage. As they perform, drones in the sky change shape into various forms to tell the story of the show.
As you lose yourself in the atmosphere of the place in the midst of unreality, boom, fireworks are shot off, creating a big flower in the sky. The three fireworks teams, Marutamaya Kokatsu Fireworks, Marugo, and Wakino Art Factory, which are also active overseas, are in charge of the event. In one's long life, it is not often that one gets to see such a powerful fireworks display being shot off at such close range. The real thrill is to hear the loud popping sound coming at different times.
As time progresses, the mood of the music and performance changes, shifting from jovial to mature and bewitching, and to a variety of other scenes. The well-timed fireworks display in time with the musical break was also a highlight. There was so much to see that two hours passed in the blink of an eye as I simply gazed at the sky in amazement. I was breathless as I realized what a luxurious time I had spent watching the fireworks.
