The "Kashiwa" is a cultural center that hosts art exhibitions and fashion pop-up stores, and there is no shortage of topics of conversation.Basement GINZAThe next step is a pop-up shop for five Tokyo-based eyewear brands. The next attempt is a pop-up store of 5 eyewear brands based in Tokyo. The participating brands and their concepts are introduced here.
EnaLloid
Based on Japan-made quality design, we select colors, sizes, and materials that suit your mood of the day. Because they are to be used every day, we pursue ease of use and comfort of wear, and spare no pains. This high-end attention to detail, which is highly valued globally, adds a light feeling to one's personality, just like a high-quality accessory or perfume.
Ena glasses ENALLOID
EnaLloid's authentic men's line. "The man with the glasses" concept focuses on iconic men who wear glasses, such as actors, writers, artists, film directors, and architects, and the glasses they love. We reconsider the fact that glasses, which have become a part of the face, tell a story about the man himself and have been engraved in the history of the world. The collection features essential eyeglass designs updated with the technical expertise of Ena Eyeglass Industries.
MASAHIRO MARUYAMA
Unfinished Art" is the concept of designer Masahiro Maruyama's collection. The product concept is traditional craftsmanship + design. The glasses are made by long-established craftsmen in Kawada, Sabae City, Fukui Prefecture, who use traditional techniques that cannot be imitated elsewhere, such as caulking hinges and filing. Through thorough dialogue with the craftsmen, the subtle nuances of the craftsmen's work are picked out by the craftsmen themselves, and the finished product is the result of their particular attention to detail.
Bobby Sings Standard,.
A Tokyo-based eyewear brand that debuted in 2010 with designs that strongly reflect the unique mood created by vintage frames from around the 1970s. The brand's products are not mere rehashes of vintage frames, but rather incorporate high-end functionality, such as the combination of beta-titanium temples that are springy and create a comfortable fit, and thick fronts that are reminiscent of vintage European frames from the 1960s.
YUICHI TOYAMA.
The name was changed from the brand "USH" established in 2009 and started from the Spring/Summer 2017 collection. The brand policy is "traditional technique and innovative design. The frames designed based on the five routines (see, think, draw, make, and break) that Toyama has set for himself are original products that accompany users in their daily lives. They are highly acclaimed both in Japan and abroad.
All brands have strong support from the fashion industry, and I have the impression that they have many fans overseas as well. All are small but up-and-coming brands that are creating a stir in the scene.
This pop-up store is fully supported by a select store for glasses, "MEGASTAR", which has stores in Urawa and Omiya.PonmeganeThe shop will also sell eyeglass accessories and sundries selected by the store. The store will also offer eyewear accessories and sundries selected by the store. Also, designers of each brand will be in the store by day during the period. You may have a rare opportunity to select eyewear while having direct contact with the makers. This event will be held until the 30th of this month, so be sure to stop by.
