A "group exhibition" by one artist, with an uncomfortable title that hides a hidden thought.

FACE is an illustrator with a unique style that is popular around the world. His originality can be felt in his themes such as "anti-war" and "peacefulness," and an exhibition of works created with new expressions by Mr. FACE has started today at "GALLERY TARGET" in Harajuku, Tokyo. The exhibition, in which all the works created by Mr. FACE using new expressions are exhibited, has started today at "GALLERY TARGET" in Harajuku, Tokyo.

This is the first time in three years that FACE has held an exhibition at Gallery Target, to which he belongs. As the name "group exhibition" implies, the exhibition is composed of several artists with completely different styles, and approximately 30 new works will be exhibited for the first time at the venue.

"For a painter, there is nothing more pleasing than to betray the viewer . . Conversely, there is nothing more boring than painting to meet the expectations of the viewer. In other words, when an artist has developed a style, the people around him or her admire that style. If the artist paints in that style, he or she will receive a certain amount of recognition, but for himself or herself, he or she is simply copying himself or herself and not making any progress. Of course it is the artist who paints the picture, but the audience who sees the picture first is also the artist. What is the point of painting a picture if it cannot please the first viewer? A painting is only powerful when it is exposed to the public, but I am not painting for others, I am painting to impress myself."
