It was four years ago in 2021 that g.u. and UNDERCOVER teamed up for the first time. I vividly remember the impact of this collaboration, which transcended the boundaries of genres. After four years of collaboration, it has now been decided that this new g.u. line will be the first of its kind.
Its name is "UG.
The "Yoozy" team, led by Jun Takahashi, will not only be involved in product design, but will also be involved in product fittings and key visual development. It seems that this new initiative will evolve the existing collaboration to a new stage.
The concept of the line is "SILENT / NOISE". The line is characterized by playful designs and free styling that bring a little discomfort and surprise to everyday fashion. Please take a look at the first collection, which will go on sale on March 14 (Fri.).
The first collection reinterpreted g.u.'s standard items such as sweatshirts, utility pants, and broadcloth shirts, and used the original "Fang Camo" pattern, a camouflage pattern with Undercover's unique fang design, inside-out and cut-off designs, etc. This is a collection with a playful spirit.
The lineup also includes products unique to this collection, such as an oversized set-up using a new material developed in collaboration with the company, and graphics drawn by Jun Takahashi based on the motif of the fictional "Noise Burger Shop" hamburger store.
In addition to being of high design and quality and easy to coordinate with other items in the collection, the convertible design allows for many different ways to wear one item of clothing, making it possible to obtain highly practical items at a g.u. price. This is a full-fledged product that will appeal to fans of both "g.u." and "undercover.

Although the name has changed, we have tried new designs and updates within the ongoing concept of "comfortable noise in everyday life. In terms of design, the seam allowance, which is normally concealed, is now exposed and left uncut. This detail is one of the characteristics of UG's design.
I especially like the jacket and slacks set-up, which I tried for the first time. I think it is a gem with fine details designed in a well-balanced way. In particular, we recommend dressing down the jacket and slacks set-up by adding a casual cap, and we hope that people of all ages will enjoy it as everyday wear. Also, although the product lineup is mainly men's, most of the items are made with an awareness that they can be worn by both men and women. We want women to be able to wear the same casual clothes as men.
