I want to talk to all kinds of people and ask them about things that are on everyone's mind.
What motivates you both to create music?
Ikuta: Since I was a small child, music and songs have been overflowing on their own. It is like a fountain that never dries up, and it just keeps coming out, so I pick it up and make music from it. Singing and being creative is something that comes naturally to me.
LANA: I am exactly the same. I write lyrics about everything. I write lyrics when something happens, and I also write lyrics about nothing.
So your daily life is the source of your music.
Ikuta: It really is like that.
LANA: What you eat, what you drink, the signs in town. It's all of it.
Ikuta: What you see and hear.
When do you say, "Okay, I'm going to write a song! What is the timing when you say, "Okay, I'm going to write a song!

LANA: Rira-chan, I'm curious about that too!
Ikuta: I value spontaneity very much, so that is the base of my work. Among other things, when I have a deadline coming up and I have to do something, there are times when I sit down at the piano or carry my guitar and think, "All right! I'll sit down at the piano or pick up the guitar and say, "Okay! But when I have to decide what sound to make or what melody to use, I make music while keeping in mind what I want to do in my groove at that moment. I often create lyrics and themes from what I have accumulated up to that point, so it does not feel like I just create something out of the blue.
Do you feel like you are releasing what you have accumulated?
Ikuta: That's right. How about you, LANA?
LANA: When I get frustrated at home or when I am lonely and alone, I go into the studio and make music. Sometimes I just punch in the lyrics and put them out as they are, and other times I rub them together and put them out. It varies each time, but I do it freely.
Do you also accumulate beats?
LANA: Yes, I do. I always have a beat, and sometimes I make it myself. Recently, I taught myself how to play the piano, and I also do something like storytelling. I am exposed to a lot of different things, so I am halfway through all of them.... I think it is important to be exposed to various things now. I am also making a song that sounds like four-strike techno.
Ikuta: So you sometimes make your own beats?
LANA: Yes, there is. There is such an app. I haven't released it officially. Recently, I sang with a guitarist and a pianist in a kind of session. Well, that's how I do it.
During the recording, there was some talk of "Let's do something together.
LANA: I want to do it so badly!
Ikuta: It will be fun to dive into LANA's musicality! I'll do anything (laughs). I'm willing to try my hand at rapping, too.
LANA: Let's do it! We want to do something interesting!

Lastly, this is the third recording of "LANA's ROOM Radio.
LANA: I really want to just do things as they are already. I want to talk to all kinds of people, and I want to ask the guests what they are concerned about.
Ikuta: She asked me a lot of questions, and that really made me happy. I also enjoyed listening to LANA's stories, which I think I could hear only from her. I am sure that fans will be able to hear episodes that they have never heard of and meet new artists, so I am looking forward to the future.
LANA: Anyway, I will do what I want to do (laughs). If you find that interesting, I will be happy!
