A hidden masterpiece and a masterpiece that everyone knows. The dream of designing both of them is realized.
The three collaborative models are a fusion of bold color palettes and retro-futuristic details, reimagined from Teva's archived models from the early 2000s. What do you like about each of them?
Wraptor CT - Archive Multi ¥38,500
The construction of the Wraptor has been updated to shoe specifications. In addition to the 360° strap that secures the foot in place, a metal quick-release buckle and toggle closure are used for easy on/off and high durability. A reinforced heel and nylon plate ensure stability, and the Sean-inspired colorblocking accentuates the design.
The first thing that catches the eye is Teva's unique lace-up system. While functionality comes first, the design is also excellent, which is wonderful. In addition, the outsole reminds me of the buildings that line the streets at equal intervals. This is also a cute point. A camera flies in from the sky, lands on a cityscape, and starts a story from there. I designed the shoes with this kind of imagination.
Wraptor Sandal - Saffron/Multi ¥28,600
The "Raptor," an archived model introduced in 2000, has been re-imagined with Sean's sensibilities. The 360° strap that wraps around the entire foot features webbing that incorporates patterns from Teva's archives and Sean's signature colors. The retro-futuristic color panels and breathable open upper look great in the city or in nature.
We found this model while digging through a lot of Teva's archives to make this collaboration a reality. The Raptor system on the instep is also noteworthy. Since it has not been reissued in the 25 years since its original release, many people may not have even known it existed. In that sense, we are very happy to have been able to revive it in the modern age.
Hurricane XLT2- Archive Multi ¥14,300
Known as the brand's signature sandal, this is the brand's signature sandal. It features a three-point strap with adjustable fitting and recycled polyester webbing. With a lightweight EVA midsole and durable outsole, it is versatile enough for both outdoor and town wear. Its functionality and simple design have made it a perennial favorite among a wide range of people.
Of the three models in this issue, the Hurricane is the only one that is released new every year. A hidden masterpiece in the archives and an iconic masterpiece that everyone knows. My goal was to design both of them, and one dream came true. I expressed the trend of "what" (mashing up different colors and patterns) that is popular in the sneaker scene in my own way.
As a sneaker collector, how do you feel about the recent trend of brands reissuing classic sneakers from the past, especially from the archives of the 00s?
The reissue of 2000s archive models is a trend in the current sneaker scene. Just five years ago, I myself predicted that the time would come when models from the 2000s would once again be the focus of attention! I am happy that we were able to revive the archive models of the same era in this way.

How do you want people to receive the shoes, visuals, and Teva initiatives that resulted from this collaboration?
We want everyone who visits our pop-up to leave with a smile on their face and to share the inspiration and excitement of seeing a traditional, futuristic, crazy world in the middle of Harajuku with their family, friends, and loved ones. I want to share it with my family, friends, and other close people around me.
There are still many attractive models in the Teva archives, and I sincerely hope that this kind of project can be realized again.
