The North Face "Free Run" worn by three runners.

The North Face's "Freerun" series is highly functional for both trail and road running, and has a design that looks good in town as well. Three runners with rich personalities took to the outdoors to try on such a versatile collection. We asked them to experience the true value of the collection through a trail run in Hakone.

Run through the nature of Hakone!

The stage for this year's event is Hakone. While it is known as a hot spring resort, Hakone is also home to full-scale trail fields that are easily accessible from the city center. Surrounded by mountains and forests, you can enjoy both sightseeing and running at the same time, which is unique to this area.

This plan is a one-way course of approximately 7 km, starting at Kowakudani Station, passing through Chisuji Waterfall and Mount Asama, descending Yusaka Road, and finishing at Hakone-Yumoto. While the distance and difficulty level are suitable even for beginners, the route allows visitors to enjoy the diverse expressions of nature. In selecting the course, we referred to the website of "HAKONATURE BASE," an activity base in Hakone. BASE, an activity base in Hakone, was used as a reference in selecting the course.

After meeting at HAKONATURE BASE and depositing your luggage in the lockers, take the Hakone Tozan Railway from Hakone-Yumoto Station and get off at Kowakudani Station. Continue on the road, then enter the trail and head toward Senjo Falls.

After following the path along the stream for a while, you will arrive at Senjo Falls.

The Senjo Falls is a waterfall that cascades down the moss-covered rock surface like a mistletoe. Although it is a small waterfall, approximately 25 meters wide and 3 meters high, it is very powerful, and the negative ions will soothe you.

From here on, the trail climbs. We will aim for the summit of Mt.

As one would expect from three people who are accustomed to running on a regular basis, they were never out of breath. They were not out of breath, and they were gaining altitude nimbly with an occasional smile on their faces.

Walk slowly on the way up, but run nimbly on the way down and on flat roads.

While running through the nature of Hakone, the three runners dress in an urban style. The "Free Run" brand is both nimble and sophisticated, combining lightness that does not hinder the runner's movement with a fashionable look that looks good in town.

After passing through the tree line and the Miyanoshita branch, we reached an open area. We have arrived at the summit of Mt. Take a short rest here.

Sit on a bench and chat over snacks you have brought along. Such a moment enhances the fun of trail running.

At the end, we went down Yusaka-ro at a stretch and headed toward Hakone-Yumoto.

The feeling of running fast, surrendering to gravity, is the real thrill of a trail run. After about 4 km on Yusaka Road, you will come to a road near Hakone-Yumoto Station.

And the finish. After the 7-km run, we strolled through the shopping district in front of Hakone-Yumoto Station, feeling like a tourist.

Speaking of hot springs, we stopped at a store to buy some manju (a sweet bean-jam bun) to eat. The gentle sweetness of the manju soaked into my body after my run.
