ALL STAR LGCY VELVET HI meets Tatsuya Maki

A BILLY'S special order that carries on the culture, the moment when the ALL STAR LGCY VELVET HI and Tatsuya Maki resonate with each other.

The "All Star" by Converse has been loved by many rock stars and cultural figures throughout the ages. The "LGCY" series, which pays homage to this authentic icon, has become a hot topic among people of all ages. This time, we went behind the scenes to shoot new visuals for the "ALL STAR LGCY VELVET HI," which will be released exclusively at "BILLY'S." The model for the shoot was Rocky Royal Road. The model was Tatsuya Maki, vocalist of "go!go!vanillas," a band that continues to evolve based on a royal rock 'n' roll style that incorporates various music genres in every direction. We interviewed Mr. Maki about his fashion roots and his thoughts on "Converse.

Wearing Converse turns on Tatsuya Maki's live lutin.

- Please also tell us about your particular costumes for live performances and other on-stage events.

While each member is aware of Britishness, as a band we are basically free. However, I personally have various rules. For example, if we are at the Budokan, we will definitely wear suits. Budokan is a sacred place, a place of dreams where the Beatles brought rock music and youth culture, so following their example and wearing a suit makes me feel more relaxed. Also, I have always worn "Converse" to live shows ever since I first started the band.

- How did you come to choose Converse?

They have deep roots with rock and roll and punk culture, and bands I love, such as the Ramones and the Strokes, have been wearing them for a long time. No matter if you are an amateur, an indie, or a major player, you are not bound by any genre or scene, and anyone can admire and wear them. I think it's cool that they have never changed.

- It is a style that you inherited from your predecessors.

Also, the feeling of tightening those strings reminds me of the feeling before a game when I was in the basketball team. It's like a switch is flipped at that moment. Another reason may be that none of the bands of my generation wore iconic "Converse" shoes.

- How did you feel when you tried on the ALL STAR LGCY VELVET HI?

They were very easy to wear. The velvet fabric made them feel thick and comfortable to hold on to. The exquisite coloring, which at first glance looks black but is actually dark green, is also cool. The color looks different depending on the light, and I think you can enjoy it in your own way. I'm also curious to see how the taste will develop over time as the shoes are worn down.

- Do you have any personal booms that you are into these days?

Recently I have been into making spiced curry curries. Every time I make a different distribution, I try to give it to my friends and ask them to send me their impressions, and then I try new patterns from their statistics.

- What is the attraction of making curry?

I feel it is similar to songwriting or mixing. The slightest difference can change the end result, and there are preferences. Is it a numbing spiciness, or do you like the smell of an Indian city, like cumin? I think we all share the feeling of being addicted to the process of finding what suits us best.

- Where did you get the inspiration to make curry?

At first it was whiskey. I had never been particular about whisky before, but one day I suddenly came across a delicious scotch, and as I researched the regions of Islay and Speyside, the barrels, the making process, and the natural environment, I got more and more into it. I started comparing different kinds of scotch and thought, "I want to eat curry.

- Whiskey and curry?

That's right. I was thinking about what would be a good meal to go with it, and since scotch is quite strong, I felt that if the food didn't have a punch, it would lose out. Then, I thought of spices. ...... and I came up with curry. I started with a recipe I learned from a friend, and then I started to arrange it more and more until now.

- Whiskey and curry is fresh. I don't think there are many restaurants that sell it.

Yes, it is. If it's this combination, maybe we can have a curry shop? (Laughter)

- So the roots of the food will also be in England.

American bourbon and Japanese blended whiskey did not suit my constitution and taste, but when I tried Scotch single malt, I was hooked! I was hooked. Now I want to go to Scotland the most. I want to visit Bowmore, Carilla, and many other distilleries.
