Dickies is the best choice for everyday wear.
Even though they are the same M-45s, there are many different types of M-45s.

Yuuki: It was made during World War II, so I think the regulations were loose. That is why there was such a shortage of supplies. There were pockets with one- or double-rimmed pockets, and fabrics made of poplin or thick twill, so there was a wide variety.
Konno: Since we were able to borrow so much material from Mr. Akamine, we first focused on the silhouette and considered how to preserve details. For example, we made the pockets with double-hemmed edges, which requires a lot of work, and left the adjustable tabs at the hem and waist. We also made the belt loops thicker for a tougher finish. We played catch-up with Mr. Akamine and Ms. Reiko as we made decisions.

Konno: Although it is not visible, we put a print on the pocket sleeves to indicate that these are pants that we have modified. Nexus Seven originally used olive herringbone for these slacks, and it has become an icon. This time, since the items were made during the World War II, they fit well with that theme.
Were there many individual differences in sewing?
Konno: Some were sewn with a lock sewing machine, while others were made with a rolled or folded-down sewing machine. In this case, you sewed it with a rolled seam. You also calculate the shrinkage rate to get the puckering. I think it gives the garment an expression, and I think it is completely different without it.
The TC twill fabrication by Dickies gives these pants a different feel from vintage pants, doesn't it?

Konno: It has a different quality. Considering that I would wear it as everyday wear, I thought this would be the best choice. I was shown a swatch of fabric, and this time I selected a thick TC twill.
Yuuki: Even with new items, there are items that become shabby after being worn and washed only a few times, or that become furballs or lose their color quickly. I definitely did not want to make a product like that. We wanted to make it tough, so I think the fabric is perfect for this project.
What were you particular about when selecting color variations?

Yuuki: It's a standard color.
Reiko: I chose from a huge variety of colors, but I wanted colors that were easier to match than primary colors.
Yuuki: The coloring is very Dickies, and it's nice.
The "Dickies" tag is also in military colors instead of the usual colorful ones.

Konno: There is a military patch called a "subdued" patch, and I was conscious of it this time. For example, fatigued shirts have patches that are blended with the color of the shirt. I asked if I could subdue the "Dickies" name, and I got the OK.
