The three of them became close friends during their time at vocational school through their shared interests in skateboarding and fashion. Even now, more than three years after graduation, they say they still spend time together just as they did back then.
"I was attending a fashion vocational school, but there were hardly any people dressed as casually as we were—as far as the eye could see. I guess we just clicked, because we all naturally ended up hanging out together. We’d often go skateboarding after school and grab a bite to eat together."
Lately, when they go out on the town, they head to clubs or check out art exhibitions. When they’re out in nature, they enjoy biking and hiking. The “GAR” collection is the perfect fit for them—whether they’re having fun in the city or out in nature.
Keita:
The North Face T-shirt ¥7,920; hoodie worn underneath ¥17,600; shorts ¥13,200; cap ¥7,150 (Goldwin Customer Service Center), other items are the model’s own
Takan:
The North Face Vest ¥20,900, Sweatshirt ¥14,300, Sweat Shorts ¥10,450, Hat ¥7,150, Socks ¥2,970 (Goldwin Customer Service Center), Other personal items
Sou:
The North Face parka ¥17,600, jacket worn underneath ¥31,900, Pants ¥ 18,700, Jacket tied around the waist ¥ 26,400 (Goldwin Customer Service Center), Other items are the model’s own
"I'm drawn to the fact that it doesn't look all that techy, yet it actually works well," said Sou. "It seems like it would go great with the vintage clothes we like."
The vest Takan is wearing is made of 100% nylon, but a special finish gives it a faded look. This extra touch may be the reason why the garments in this collection don’t look like typical outdoor wear. Furthermore, most of the nylon used in "GAR" features a moisture-absorbing and releasing polymer in its core. This prevents stuffiness even when you sweat, ensuring comfort all day long.
"I really want to start running this spring," said Takan, to which Keita immediately retorted, "Really?" The cheerful vibe of "GAR" perfectly matched the trio’s friendly, relaxed atmosphere.
