Finally, to soothe the day's fatigue.
The last stop of the day was Genyu, marked by a sign for an old-fashioned “electric hot spring.” After taking a bath, we took a breather using the foot massagers in the rest area. “What was the most fun part of today? The café, the stepping stones, the Zen meditation, the oyakodon, or the foot massage?” The answers were all over the map. Even though we’d been walking the same path since morning, the moments that stuck with each of us were different. Maybe that’s part of the fun of going out with five people.
When asked about “Bondi 7 BEAMS,” the responses were uniformly candid: “They’re simple and comfortable to walk in,” “The camo pattern is cool,” and “They’re incredibly stable.” Among them, Nakamoto—who loves camo so much he’d even gone to vintage shops the day before to hunt for camo items—said simply, “More than anything, I’m super happy I got to wear these shoes.” As for their day in Kyoto, all five remarked, “It felt so natural—I didn’t have to put on airs even once,” and “It was so much fun—it really felt like we were sightseeing!” On the way back, the “Bondi 7 BEAMS” were still on all five of their feet. Their strides were so light. And just like that, our Kyoto summer vacation—filled with plenty of walking and plenty of fun—came to an end.
