It's a style of clothing everyone is familiar with, but it's different on the inside.
We’ve traced the background of “ARCHETYPE”’s craftsmanship through Goldwin, KB Soren, and Komatsu Materiel—so what did Mr. Kaneko take away from this journey?
“Up until now, I thought I knew about Goldwin, KB Soren, and Komatsu Materiel just from seeing them in showrooms and such. But when I actually visited their production sites, I realized they were investing far more time and effort than I had imagined, and everyone was working toward the same goal. Being able to feel that passion firsthand was the biggest takeaway from this experience.”
Synthetic fibers, functionality, and a new value: “comfort.” Mr. Kaneko has taken a step into a new realm of manufacturing. Having witnessed cutting-edge technologies firsthand in various locations, he appears to have been deeply inspired.
“Everyone there is truly an expert, so while I admit I was a bit complacent in some ways, I was deeply inspired by their passion. I realized that if I think more deeply and share more of my ideas, we might be able to create something that exceeds even our wildest imaginations. I decided I want to take on more creative challenges without setting any limits.”
“With all the extreme weather we’ve been seeing in recent years, we’re living in an era where we need to rethink our approach to fashion. That’s exactly why working with came at such a great time. This time, I got to see the fabric manufacturer’s production floor firsthand, and I realized that if we keep pushing the boundaries, we can create even more comfortable clothing. I think the fact that I was able to truly experience that potential will really pay off in our future product development.”
"ARCHETYPE" will go on sale starting September 4 at NEUTRALWORKS. stores, authorized retailers, and the official online store. Why not slip it on while reflecting on the journey of craftsmanship that has brought us this far?
"I intended to create clothes that everyone is familiar with, but there’s something a little different about them. I designed them to alleviate—even if only slightly—those small annoyances that people have simply accepted as 'just the way things are.' I’d be happy if you’d pick them up and try out this new wearing experience for yourself."
