mountain fieldAfter appearing in Rookie a Go-Go last year, I had the intention of appearing in Red Marquee this year, so I was very excited to have my wish come true.

mountain fieldI tried to perform as usual with the setlist that I have been working on for the past six months. Don't get too defensive. I don't think being conscious of the size of the box will lead to a good performance. However, there was a new song that was created with Fuji Rock in mind, and I was conscious of the fact that it was 7 to 8 minutes long, and that it would sound effective on the dance floor. There was a small part of me that was conscious of the late-night Red Marquee from the songwriting stage. The song is tentatively titled "Germany," and although it is difficult to play a 7-8 minute song during a 40-minute live show, it was only possible because the Red Marquee was at that time of the night at Fuji Rock.

mountain fieldThe Red Marquee is a video-friendly venue. Instead of projecting the images from the audience side with a projector, the images are projected on LED back monitors, which do not interfere with the lighting. This allowed us to make a lot of work on the lighting. Mr. Onishi of "WWW" was in charge of the lighting, and I would say that the interaction between the video and the lights made the production possible.

mountain fieldWe bring our own PCs and write songs at each member's house. The fact that we can create songs using PCs instead of instruments may be one of the factors that speeds up the process.

I guess they never learned how to subtract. The bjork video was good, but I didn't understand the meaning of some parts of the video. I think it would have been better to focus the lighting on the orchestra since Arca was playing with the orchestra on the back. But on that scale, I don't know what the right answer is. The environment was also bad because of the weather.

mountain fieldI trusted them so much that I wore them for three full days. I had a little bit of sock soreness, but the socks were pretty good at getting rid of that too. They are not light, but that gave me a sense of security at Fuji Rock.
