Override" is a select store of hats that continues to convey the charm of hats and the sensitivity that the Japanese people have nurtured, updating them for each era. . Once again, a collaboration between such "Override" and HOUYHNHNM's brand has been realized. This time, collaboration partners Kenichi Gongmori of Bow Wow, Mami Haruyama of F/CE, and Kiho Ogasawara of Freada appear on the show. The interview and styling of the collaborated items will reveal the charms of the items, while also revealing the particularities that each designer has put into them.
After working as a sales staff at a vintage store in Harajuku and gaining experience in production and planning, she became independent and started her own apparel brand "BOW WOW" in the 2017 AW season, mixing her own style influences and 90's culture. The brand has gained popularity for its playful items that pay homage to and remake 90's culture. He is currently preparing to open a flagship store in Harajuku.

This is the third season for Bow Wow, but is this your first collaboration?
custodianAlthough we have done special orders for select stores in the past, this is the first time we are working together in this way. Therefore, this time, we started with the idea of creating something meaningful that could only be made by "Override," and something that would be difficult for our hat factory to make, but which could only be made by a hat brand specializing in hats.

custodianAfter all, we have the technical skills, experience, and sense of style that come from specializing in everything from fabrics to silhouettes, etc. So, in order to take advantage of this, we proposed a remake method that was not in "Override's" current lineup, but still had our own unique style. If it is a remake, is the material also from old clothes?
custodianIt's a one-of-a-kind item. The fabric is taken from old sports nylon jackets, so even if the color scheme is similar, each piece is made differently, and no two are exactly alike, making them all one-of-a-kind. The designer of "Override" understood our intentions and suggested ideas to make it even better, so everything went very smoothly from the selection of the body of the vintage clothing to the matching of the fabric patterns.
Conversely, what were the difficult parts?
custodianWhen we received the first sample, we had to make some modifications because the silhouette and expression would change considerably depending on the thickness of the lining and the depth of the cover, but we were able to get the rest of the work done perfectly, and we were satisfied with the result.

custodianEven if we just say "90's" in a single word, the style that emerges depends on the music, fashion, culture, and environment that a person has been exposed to, doesn't it? In my case, I liked hip-hop, but even back then I wore it with a bit of a twist rather than straight-forwardly. I think this kind of atmosphere of "it's okay to have fun freely" was something unique to the 90s, so I made the collection available in a wide variety of colors to broaden the range of styles.
That's what makes Bow Wow so unique, isn't it? . With the recent 90's boom, this cap is likely to be welcomed by both men and women alike.
custodianAlthough the design scene seems to be moving toward simplicity, it seems that this 90's trend will continue. However, "Bow Wow" will remain unchanged and unwavering. I am proud to say that this cap embodies the core of what we stand for.
