Push forward, expressionists. The light of creation that Masaki Sugata and Taiga Nakano are looking toward.

The youth and adults of today, Japanese society, impulses and glimmerings, all are reflected in this film.Taro's fool.(Kaiyodo) will be released in theaters on September 6 (Friday). This is the latest work by director Tatsushi Omori, who has dealt with "human beings" in numerous high-profile films such as "The Night of Germanium (2005)" and "Mahoro Ekimae Tada Handyuken (2011)", and it is also his first film based on a script he wrote 20 years ago. It is also his first film based on a script he wrote 20 years ago. Masaki Sugata and Taiga Nakano play the lead roles along with up-and-coming newcomer YOSHI, and we caught up with them to learn more about YOSHI and the "expression" they continue to challenge themselves with.

We leave ourselves to the means of not "verbalizing."

It was a very beautiful film. It was a very beautiful film. It showed what everyone wants to see and what people tend to turn away from, "as it is," without trying to explain it with logic. The content was supposed to be intense, but the purity of the content was refreshing. In the film, there were many scenes in which the actors were silent, sang, or acted in ways other than through dialogue.

Sugata:I don't know how we did it, we.

Nakano:The director also always said that he did not want us to think in terms of logic. If you put it into words, you are limited to a variety of emotions, and if you use words, that's the end of it. Besides, it is very difficult to verbalize what you are thinking. I think it was more a process of embodying something that is not logical, something that is more incomprehensible.

I think it is very common in the real world for people to be caught between a rock and a hard place, like Sugio, played by Mr. Taiga, and to be pushed beyond their capacity. It seemed very painful to watch.

Nakano:That's right. When I approach a work, I tend to think about it in a very logical way. I tend to think in logical terms when I approach a production. I think of a role as something that happened, something I thought about, and then I figure it out. I am the type of person who thinks that way.

Sugata:That's great too, isn't it?

Nakano:This time, under Ohmori's direction, the approach of setting up some sort of roadmap did not work in a sense, and in fact, the director did not want us to work in such a way.

Nakano:However, Sugio is also a person who seeks reality and reason, so I could not ignore that aspect of his personality. There were several occasions when we had to reconcile these differences. But after a certain incident caused Sugio's brakes to break, there was a moment when I was able to shake hands with the director and break the brakes myself, in resonance with the role.

Sugata:You and the director talked a lot, didn't you? I think he was the most talkative.

Nakano:I wanted to find meaning, and I wanted to know the logic. I think my way of thinking and Sugio's frank way of thinking were somewhat similar. But the director made me think that I should accept all of that and let it go. Shohki and Yoshi made me feel that way.
