When he was a student in 1995, the sneaker boom took off, and he became interested in fashion under the influence of his friends. . He enjoys surfing, and is fond of side-riding culture and vintage clothing.

Do you remember the first time you wore Vans?
Influenced by my older brother and friends, I started wearing "ERAs" when I was 15 years old. At the time, we were in the middle of the 90's sneaker boom, and the affordable price and style of "Vans" was appealing to me.
What memories do you have of Vans?
I well remember wearing the navy "AUTHENTIC" on my first date with my girlfriend when we were students (laughs).
What are the key points of customized design?
. The image of modern society. I noticed that most people on the train were fiddling with their phones, and I thought that people would have a hard time without cell phones, which gave me the idea for this design. . The message "YOU NEED A CHARGE" is ironically meant on the side tape. I drew two different designs with the same concept.
How did you like the design?
It is easy to express the individuality of each person. Being able to embody what you usually think about on a shoe is a project that is very typical of " VAN'S. If you don't have ideas on a regular basis, you may not be able to come up with designs easily, but since you don't have to think about anything difficult and can just design according to your sensitivity and intuition, I think it is easy for anyone to participate in this project.
What are your future plans?
On Saturday, October 12, our second Billy's location will open in Osaka! Please come and visit us!
