Talking about the creation

Non-native's goal is to create clothes that function in society.

Non-native" continues to reign as an isolated fashion brand with its products that always feature new silhouettes and fusion of clothing and high-functional materials. Recently, the designer, Takayuki Fujii, has stopped traveling, which used to be an essential part of his creations, and has stopped setting a seasonal theme that tells the world of his collections, and instead, he has been solely facing his own experiences and senses. The boots he has been longing to wear with "Guidi" were recently released as a special order from "non-native," which does not rely on motifs or words. We will take a closer look at the ongoing "non-native" and Takayuki Fujii from the product and Fujii's latest shoe collection, which is the fulfillment of a long-held dream.

Takayuki Fujii
Latest shoe collection.

Mr. Fujii's theory is that "the philosophy of craftsmanship is always reflected in shopping. The shoes he uses on a daily basis are a testament to this. From his prized beige collection to the latest models that have changed the way we feel about "walking" since moving to Hayama, here are some of his favorite shoes that show the Takayuki Fujii we know and love today.

These side gore boots are from Arts & Science. Beige side gores are hard to find. I really like the shape of the wood and the narrowness of the opening. The color and details are just as I expected. This is a pair from the new beige collection.

Clarks" shoes go with sporty styling. For me, the shoes that go well with shorts and sporty pants are "Clarks" desert boots. And only in this color. I can wear them like sneakers, and I choose the height of the shoe to match the thickness of my pants.

These are two pairs that can be worn casually with a Converse-like feel, while still being suitable for rather elegant situations. I wear the Céline Haraco slip-ons on the left when I go to Kamakura, for example.

These three pairs are for walking. In particular, the Nike Zoom Fly 3 (on the left) was made with NIKEiD. I recently became a foster parent of a shelter dog named Tom, and I engraved his name and birthday on them as his walking shoes. I also made the color to resemble Tom's (laughs).

These treerunning shoes are specially ordered by "ASICS" and "Non-Native" for "Innovate. I have worn a variety of shoes, but these two pairs have a particularly good grip. I wear them when I walk in the backcountry.
