This running team was formed by volunteers who love to run within BEAMS. The five members above are the main members of the team. From left: Akihiro Fujise (Manager, BEAMS T Harajuku), Hideaki Makino (BEAMS License Business Department), Kika Takahashi (BEAMS Tokyo Skytree Town staff), Kazuma Seki (Pilgrim Surf + Supply staff), Haruka Nakagawa (BEAMS Roppongi Hills staff)
Five different people, five different ways. Why we started running.
I would like to start by asking you why you started running.

Fujise:I ran track and field from junior high school to college. I ran long distance. After I graduated from junior high school, I retired from track and field, and after entering the workforce, I lived a life unrelated to exercise.

Makino:I used to be an athlete, and so was I. I was a member of the track and field team in junior high and high school and was a serious competitor. However, at the time, I had a lot of painful memories ....... When I retired from the club, I swore to myself that I would never run again. But then, by some chance, I was selected to run in the 2008 Tokyo Marathon, and I decided to give it my all. When I started running again, I thought, "Wow, this is surprisingly good. As I trained day after day for the Tokyo Marathon, running became a daily habit.

Takahashi:Like Mr. Fujise and Mr. Makino, I, too, had been seriously involved in athletics as a competitor since my school days. After graduating from high school, I joined an industrial company and devoted myself to athletics, but due to a series of breakdowns, I had to put an end to my athletic career and leave the company. I joined BEAMS because I had always loved fashion. I am still running, but I enjoy running itself without worrying about times or rankings.

Seki:I was not a serious runner when I was a student like many of you. I started running about five years ago. I started running about five years ago because I wanted to have some time alone in my busy life and to spend some time with myself.

Nakagawa:I was on the volleyball team as a student and have always loved running long distances. When I entered the workforce, I met a member of the BEAMS Run Club and we started running together.
