For the first time in my life, I was happy to see my picture on a shirt." So I nominated Husband, who is the closest person to me, as the wearer. That kind of feeling makes you want to share it with the people you care about."
Lee Izumida's friend (husband)Kanade Serada

Born in 1986. After graduating from a vocational school, he joined "HEAVENS". Currently works as a store manager at "HEAVENS OMOTESANDO." He and Lee Izumida joined the family in 2018.
I think being a hair stylist is a really tough job, what made you decide to become one?
Serada:Beckham hair became very popular during the 2002 Japan-Korea World Cup. Like many others, I tried Beckham's hair. Then, I suddenly became popular (laughs). (Laughs.) At that time, I learned how a hairdresser could change a person's life with a single haircut, and I guess that's when it all started. Also, my father was a painter, and I couldn't imagine myself working in a suit in the future.
What do you think is the appeal of Lee's work, from your point of view?
Serada:I myself am not deeply educated or particularly interested in art, but I still find Lee's paintings powerful, and I think Lee has a unique sense of color.

The pears on this shirt look white and green, but they are actually a complex gradation of colors.
Serada:Whenever Lee's drawings are used in a product, he always seems to have a concrete image of the finished product. Moreover, when I actually see the finished product, it is usually exactly as I imagined. It looks as if it is somehow missing, and I am amazed at his sense of balance in this area.

How does it feel to wear clothes made by someone close to you, much less the person you are married to?
Serada:It's a little embarrassing, but it makes me happy (laughs). But if I had, I would really like to wear it more. I usually only wear clothes made by my friends. Since I don't have much of a cultural backbone, I think that wearing clothes made by people close to me reflects my real style.
