The first encounter between "wism" and "isness" was surprisingly recent, around the fall of last year. The relationship started when they made a collaborative product that quickly sold out. My personal impression is that they are such a good match that it is a wonder they had not met before. I think they are so close in terms of their pop sense, their boldness, and their sense of distance from trends. And then there is the naming sense of "Withness. I think the moment the name was coined, the battle was won. Mr. Horike, the director of "Wizm," has an excellent sense of language. He has a keen sense of what is cool and what is tacky. It is a bit different from Yoshio Hayakawa's "How uncool it is to be cool. I have written about this T-shirt for a long time, but it is already sold out. KOUKYO 100.

Bicycle commuting is being recommended as a new lifestyle. So I pulled out my bicycle, which I had neglected for a while, and started riding it. It takes me only 30 minutes to get to some places, and I can avoid the density of the city without stress. The frame is a "Cross Check" model by Surly, originally designed for cyclo-cross, but customized for city riding. I added a basket to the front to carry luggage and changed the handlebars to a more relaxed position. What is Comme des Garçons?
One of my favorite recent books is "Paris Collection 20" (1996, Senken Shinbunsha). This book was compiled by Akira Oda, a pioneer fashion journalist in Japan who has been covering the collections since the dawn of prêt-à-porter fashion, when he was a member of the Senken Shimbun editorial board. The book introduces in an easy-to-understand manner the history of the replacement of prêt-à-porter as the mainstay of the Paris collections, where haute couture was originally at its height, with the participation of up-and-coming designers one after another since the late 1960s. Comme des Garçons first appeared in Paris in 1981. Although it has now established its position, it was mentioned that at the time it was picked up by the local newspapers as a "heretical mode. Considering that the brand has overturned all such prejudices and has been presenting in Paris for decades, it is hard to find words to describe how amazing it is. In fact, it is precisely because this is such a fascinating brand that, while I admire it, I have never bought a single piece of clothing from it. I had avoided wearing Comme des Garcons because I thought I didn't have the strength to wear it, but I decided to give it a try with this nylon blouson.
