Please tell us more about the bicycle you are currently using.

The frames are BMC, and I have been using them for about three years now.

How did you fall in love with bicycles?

When I was in high school, a friend of mine got a custom bike and I was influenced by it, and I've loved bicycles ever since. I've been doing the messenger job I'm doing now since I was a teenager, so this is my 7th year.

What are some of your favorite customization points of your car?

There are too many to single out one, but if I had to, I would say the rack attached to the front and the plastic box.

What are your feelings about your car?

I rode this bike when I worked as a messenger in extremely cold Canada during my travels around the world, so it holds more memories than I can count.

Can you recommend a bicycle store?

25Las" is located in Nakameguro. This place has a lot of rare parts, so when I want to tinker with my bike, I run in there.

Please tell us more about your current bike and your cycling history.

When I was in my hometown of Fukuoka, I went to a bicycle race track in Kitakyushu to buy my first bicycle, a "Samson" frame, which was a real bike used by actual bicycle racers. Then a friend gave me a bike that graphic artist Futura had painted on a Depot Cycle frame, and I rode that pisto bike for a while, but now I use a "Subrosa" bike.

How did you fall in love with bicycles?

I was very much influenced by massan's part. At that time, pisto crews were born in Fukuoka, and I remember that there were group rides in the city at night, dozens of pisto bikes parked on the street in front of clubs, and there was an independent atmosphere that was different from today.

What are the special features of your current car?

I recently installed a basket by myself. Also, the real tree-patterned "Hectic" frame pad was a product of that time, and I still take good care of it.

What are your feelings about your car?

Since I have been on the boat for a long time, I have a certain amount of affection for it, but if anything, I would like to make many more memories with it in the future. I am planning to put it on a boat and go to an island soon. I also have an older colleague who knows a lot about custom-building bicycles, so I'm slowly adding my own custom touches to create an ideal bike, and I'm looking forward to seeing it completed!

Where do you often go by bicycle?

Reigo" in Tomigaya.

Please tell us more about the bicycle you are currently using.

The frame I am riding today is made by "TOGASHI ENGINEERING. I like products from the mid to late 90's, when design was at its peak.

How did you fall in love with bicycles?

I first became seriously involved in bicycling in 2007, when I founded PEDALMAFIA with a group of like-minded friends, shortly before the height of the "FIXED" boom.

What is it about your car that makes it special?

I guess it was the one-off carbon molded cantilever fork I made. I had always wanted to install a cantilevered blade fork, partly because I liked Mike Burrows' work, but I couldn't find anything close to my ideal, so I decided that it would be faster to make one. I finally completed this frame. I like the retro-futuristic style.

Where do you often go by bicycle?

Maybe a work meeting or a bike ride for exercise.

Can you recommend a bicycle store?

I usually go to "W-BASE" in Harajuku for rim assembly and the like. Also, "BEANS," which used to be in Nakano but closed long ago, seems to have reopened in Fukaisawa-cho, Osaka, so if you live in Osaka and like bicycles, please check it out.
