The three creators of the next generation of creations chose this new gravis.
MAKE MORE PROGRESS.

Three people were chosen to create the next generation of creations,
New Gravis.

Skating, surfing, art, and music. Based on street culture, "gravis" has continued to create numerous innovative products. In 2020, Gravis released the successor to last year's much-talked-about ODJICK. This time, the next generation of creators who continue to take on new challenges, just as "GRAVIS" continues to evolve, have been called together. How will the hybrid shoes designed with authentic uppers and lightweight outsoles resonate with them and lead to the next step? We will introduce them with style samples.

The important thing is comfort and,
A certain degree of neatness.

Yonekura-san, you always wear simple clothes, don't you?

Yonekura:I like things that are comfortable and can be worn every day. Basically, I wear the same clothes all year round (laughs). I am not trying to be a minimalist, but I don't like to have my mood change with my daily styling. I want to keep wearing what I feel most comfortable in.

I also have a strong impression of all-black shoes. So I was surprised that you chose blue slip-ons this time.

Yonekura:My first impression was simply that it looked cool. The blue color has a unique presence, and I thought it would be easy to match with the black clothes I wear every day. It would be more chic than bringing brown shoes.

Is functionality important to you?

Yonekura:I place importance on comfort and ease of movement while shooting videos and when tinkering with my car as a hobby. And Gravis slip-ons are just so comfortable to wear. They feel as stable as sneakers, but are so light that you would think they were sandals. The soles are not too high and flexible, making them ideal for driving.

You like things that can be used in all situations in life.

Yonekura:When spending time at work and in my private life in the same style, it is important to be comfortable, but it is also important to look decent to a certain extent. I have found that I have settled on a style that is just right for me.

What was your original experience with fashion?

Yonekura:When I was in high school, I met a pair of tsunagis that I bought for a motorcycle race. That was the first time I thought the clothes were cool.

What are some of the challenges you would like to take on as a video director?

Yonekura:I would like to work more on taking my own artwork. When I get busy with client work, I tend to lose time to think about my own work, but I would like to make it regularly in the future. And one of my current goals is to make a film. I have already finished the script, so now it's just a matter of timing. Please look forward to it.
