Influenced by his father, fishing has been one of his hobbies since he was a small child, and he feels that the fishing scene is particularly exciting these days. Mr. Fukumoto showed us a solid all-black outfit accented with a "banana watch.
What kind of watches do you usually wear?
Fukumoto: I use a smartwatch. I never used to wear a watch, but since it can be linked to my smartphone, I started wearing it for practicality. It's not that I'm not interested in it, but I wanted to keep myself light. . That's why I almost never wear accessories.
Fukumoto-san, you also play sports, don't you?
Fukumoto: Yes, that's right. I do a lot of surfing and bass fishing , so that's one of the reasons I haven't worn a watch or accessories.
Ms. Fukumoto, from your point of view, how do you like the "banana watch"?
Fukumoto: The design is very simple and attractive. This Milanese bracelet is also a nice touch. I have always liked simple things, and I don't like things that are too ornate. Like clothes, I think simple things have the strength to be worn indefinitely, regardless of the season. That is why I would like to choose such a watch as well.
Also, I thought the curved case of the "Banana Watch" was amazing. It fits my wrist and is very easy to wear. Compared to the smartwatches I usually wear, it looks completely different.
What kind of image do you have of the Tissot brand?
Fukumoto: I have a strong impression of the NBA. When I watched an NBA game on TV, I was surprised to see the Tissot brand name on the time board above the goal ring and thought, "They are doing something like this.
I see. Tissot is the official timekeeper of the NBA.
Fukumoto: It is kind of nice and interesting to see a brand with a long history show a new aspect in that way.
What did you keep in mind when coordinating?
Fukumoto: As I mentioned earlier, I like simple clothes, so I have never been conscious of this. It goes well with a casual outfit like a military jacket and denim, and I think this watch stands out precisely because of that casual style.
. The silver watch shines in the all-black outfit.
Fukumoto: . Maybe so. All-black tends to be heavy, but I try to reduce this by adding bright colors somewhere. In my case, I often add such elements with socks and shoes, and in this case, the watch played that role.
