In the U.S., we can't make items like this.
I'm sure you had that as a source material, but how did you cook it up in LE?
Kaneko: I tried to prepare a couple of "P" pieces from that time, but the shape was not quite what I was in the mood for. Especially the arm silhouette was like a dolman sleeve.
But that didn't feel right at the time, did it?
Kaneko & Komori: There was none at all.
Komori: At that time, I think people were not as particular about form as they are now. There was a sense of pleasure in wearing the brand and the item itself. There was a time when I was like that too.

So you started by tweaking the sleeves.
Kaneko: That's right. Of course, it is easy to wear now, but we have not made the silhouette excessive so that it can be worn properly in the future. Also, it is not good if the down gets wet in the rain, so we use a waterproof fabric. The fill power is 700, which is just the right spec for street wear. Mr. Komori made these adjustments as a matter of course. But because it's so obvious, he doesn't talk about it much. He just does what he normally does.
It has the appearance of a European brand of yesteryear.
Kaneko: Yes, I think so. I don't think it is possible to make this kind of item in the United States.
I thought the slightly longer length was also a feature. I wonder if this item is easy to wear for tall people like Ms. Komori.
Kaneko: The "P" was a little long to begin with.
Komori: It is jacket length. It is just long enough to hide a jacket of about 75 cm in length. If the length is short, you are limited in what you can wear inside. A jacket of this length can be easily used as a woven garment. It can be worn like a coat.

Kaneko: I also changed the amount of down several times and finally landed on this amount. At first it was too fuzzy, but we gradually reduced it.
Komori: This is about right.
Kaneko: I'm tempted to put in a lot of things to create a certain atmosphere, but I end up with something that is difficult to use.

The size, including the volume, is really exquisite. I thought so when I saw the two of you wearing it.
Kaneko: Yes, it is. It is recommended to wear just the right size. If it is too big, it will look a little awkward. I am a size 1. Komori-san is wearing a size 3.
