Mountain and City. Jack Wolfskin, the answer to how to wear it.

The outdoor market has expanded dramatically this year. Amid the growing demand for camping gear and outdoor wear, the German outdoor brand "Jack Wolfskin" is suddenly attracting attention. The reason for this is a sense of familiarity with the familiar paw mark (wolf's footprints) and a sense of trust that the brand has been honestly producing outdoor wear. Two stylists with expertise in both the town and the field offer their own styling suggestions on how to wear Jack Wolfskin, which is just beginning to gain popularity. We will ask them to show us the right way to wear Jack Wolfskin.

Case-2. Field by Takahiro Nakajima

PROFILE

Takahiro Nakajima

. born in 1973. With a 20-year career as a stylist, he has worked extensively for magazines, web magazines, and advertisements. He is well versed not only in fashion, but also in outdoor and interior items of various genres, and is trusted by brands and manufacturers.

The outdoor style is enhanced by the contrast of materials.

Outerwear: Jack Wolfskin , Vest: Banana Republic , Shirt: Mountain Research , Pants: Ralph Lauren , Shoes: Danner , Cap: Bluey , Stick: Souvenir

. What was the reason you chose this outerwear for this mountain hiking theme?

Nakajima:. First of all, I thought the length was interesting. It has a lofty down jacket design, but it doesn't look like a bench coat. I thought it was rather unique in its unattractive appearance.

How did you feel when you actually tried it on?

Nakajima:It was easier to wear than I expected. The length of the coat means that it is warmer. I paired it with heavy-duty items so that it wouldn't look like a woman's long down coat, and it worked out well. I feel that the brand also goes well with that kind of material.

What do you mean?

Nakajima:JW is a German brand, and Germany is known for its quality and solidity. That's the image my generation has of JW. Also, in the 90's, when the "Shibu-Kaje" style was booming, JW backpacks were all the rage, and they were all designed for heavy-duty use. I had a much stronger impression of JW backpacks back then than I do now.

Do you think the leather vest is the key to coordination?

Nakajima:In terms of color, the key point is that brown is added to the monotone. I recommend adding a natural color to strengthen the sense of field. Another key point is the contrast of materials.

I think it's a mix of different materials. . It's not easy to imitate .......

Nakajima:That's not true. For example, many people wear leather boots when going to the mountains or camping. As for clothing, do you wear cotton for shirts and cut-and-sewns, wool or fleece for middlers, and nylon for outerwear? Surprisingly, everyone does this naturally. However, this time, I added contrasting materials by inserting striking items such as wool pants and a leather vest.

How do the outerwear you wore go with the field?

Nakajima:I think it is sufficient for light trekking or walking. It is made of water-repellent material, so it can handle some rain, and it is also warm to the hips wherever you sit. Also, since it can be worn with the top gusseted, I think it is an ideal piece to wear while enjoying layering, as in this case.

Maybe I'm digressing, but I like the model name too. It reminds me a bit of Fuji Rock or ...... (laughs). I felt a sense of familiarity with that as well.

This down coat uses "STORMLOCK," an original windproof material, with a high loft of 700FP down that meets RDS standards, and together with its long length, it provides outstanding warmth even in severely cold weather. As sustainability is a matter of course for the German brand, it does not use feathers from birds raised for down, but chooses feathers from the by-products of edible birds. Detail work includes a double-zip front that aids ventilation and height-adjustable buttons on the hood for visibility. Of course, this is a 1001TP10 TPFC-free product, and as is typical of JW, it has been made with the environment in mind.
