Born in Saitama, Japan in 1998. A genuine skater, he is a staff member at "I&I," a vintage clothing store in Shibuya that mainly sells items based on American culture, such as music and skateboarding. He has an exceptional sense of fashion and is also active as a model in advertisements for famous sports brands. He is attracting attention as a millennial who is expected to make great strides in the future. Recently, he has been immersed in ocean fishing.

When did you start skateboarding?
Tanami: I bought it when I was in the second year of junior high school, but I didn't really get into it until after I graduated from high school because of club activities and exams.
What attracted you to it?
Tanami: I think skateboarding is always a real show. There are other hobbies that involve physical exercise, but you run, do muscle training, and practice shooting before the real competition. But skateboarding is always a real event because you either make tricks or you don't. There are real shows like filming and competitions, but in the end, I think practice is the real show. Maybe that simplicity is the reason I got hooked on skateboarding.
You are absolutely right.
Tanami: And then there are my friends. Thanks to skateboarding, I made a lot of friends. I went to San Fran by myself when I was 20 years old, and I connected with many people. (laughs).
You have great energy (laughs). Was skateboarding a big influence on you?
Tanami: That's right. Skateboarding led me to like vintage clothing as well.
What do you mean?
Tanami: When I watched American skate videos, I saw riders wearing tasteful clothes like flannel shirts and work pants, which looked cool. There were skaters who were supported by a brand in their skate videos, but not wearing their brand's clothes, and that looked cool to me.
I see. What kind of vintage clothing do you like?
Tanami: I like that the culture is clearly reflected in the work. In my case, I like clothes that are related to skate, reggae and hip-hop. I like that kind of vintage clothing.
What do you think is the appeal of old clothes and new clothes?
Tanami: I don't think of it as a clear distinction. I feel that it doesn't really matter which one you choose. I dare say that new clothes are easy to dig through, and it's easy to find clothes you like. If you follow your favorite brand, it's easy to get closer to your ideal style.
Do you change the way you dress when skateboarding or in everyday life?
Tanami: Naturally, I wear clothes that are easy to move in when skateboarding. If I skateboard, I don't wear long outerwear, and if I don't skateboard, I wear only leather shoes. Personally, I size down when skateboarding. I think it makes my movements look bigger. The rest of the time, I don't care that much. I like clothes, though, so I want to choose from a different angle than other skaters.
Today, we asked you to wear outerwear specially ordered from "DESCENTE ALLTERRAIN". What is the point of today's outfit?
Tanami: I like to combine tech materials with leather. It's interesting to see the different expressions of the fabrics.
You are using a leather jacket as an inner layer.
Tanami: I often wear it as an inner layer as well. If it is a fitted leather jacket, I layer it with a wool coat or a padded blouson. Depending on the season, leather jackets are innerwear.
I like the freedom of the way you wear it.
Tanami: To some extent, I think I know how to match items and so on, but I want to dress in a flexible way that breaks that theory. The important thing is size. As long as the overall size is correct, colors and materials can be adjusted later. There may be a set theory on how to match items, but as long as the sizes are right, I think it will look cool even if you take the items out of the set.
Pants and shoes are also black, and although this is an all-black outfit, the depth of the color is different and gives a sense of depth. The outerwear has been specially ordered in different colors.
Tanami: When the light hits it, it looks cool, even greenish. It's a color I've never seen before. It's different from the black of the leather and blends in nicely.
The hood is highly water-resistant, so it is rainproof, and it also has a para-hood system designed to prevent water from pooling in the hood.
Tanami: This keeps the leather jacket from getting wet. The hood has a good shape, so it looks good even when worn. I think it is typical of Descente Ortelaine that they are particular about such gimmicks.
The front zipper has Descente's unique dual ventilation system, which draws in outside air and releases uncomfortable heat and moisture inside the garment, making it ideal for riding a skateboard.
Tanami: It's easy to move around and perfect for skateboarding. I don't have any waterproof outerwear, so I'll be able to wear it more often.
