Three of the most impressive works Utanan has ever produced.
A BATHING APE x F-1 (2019)

Utanan:I guess my most memorable experience was going to Suzuka Circuit in 2019 to shoot a collaboration between and F1. It was memorable and I'm sure it was a once in a lifetime job. I was so excited to be able to go down to the race track to shoot Lewis Hamilton and other famous racers. And I was surrounded by professional photographers who specialize in auto racing and photographers from the press, all holding huge telephoto lenses. ...... It was interesting to think that I was out of place amongst them (laughs). It was a great experience and I learned a lot. It was a great experience and I learned a lot. I had a lot of fun shooting.
Doir x Hajime Sorayama Tokyo Runway for Highsnobiety (2018)

Utanan:Speaking of good experiences, I was also very impressed when I photographed the collaboration show between "Dior" men's and Motoi Sorayama for "Highsnobiety. The scale of the show and the giant robot sculpture by Mr. Sorayama were amazing, and I could clearly feel the tension in the venue. Shooting a show is a documentary job, so of course I couldn't do it at my own pace, and it was very difficult because if I missed a moment, there would be no next time. Still, it was a great experience for me to be able to capture the expressions on the models' faces backstage, the elements of the show, and the sense of presence.
Asics Kayano Model Archives with Toshikazu Kayano for Highsnobiety

Utanan:I was also excited to be able to photograph the famous Gel-Kayano series models in the archive room at the Asics headquarters in Kobe, Japan. Mr. Kayano, the designer himself, explained everything to us, and we also got to see the humidity- and temperature-controlled storage racks for the archives, which was pretty exciting for a sneaker enthusiast!
