. What is the point of today's coordination?
Igarashi:To make the most of the impact of the sneakers, we chose simple items and colors that do not make a statement. We also tried to create a relaxed and elegant look.
What did you think of the Vans sneakers you wore this time?
Igarashi:I thought the OSB wood and cork-like texture of the insole was also a nice touch of a sustainable approach.
What kind of mood or occasion would you like to wear them in?
Igarashi:The first impression of the design is flashy and uplifting, so I would simply wear them during messy weather. I thought it would be a pair that would look great at the beach.
Please tell us about your favorite surfers, surf movies, and surf music.
Igarashi:When I started surfing, I admired Kalani Robb of "Drive Thru" and rode thrusters in my 20s. Now that I'm a bit older, I tend to ride "FISH" and mid-length boards more often, so I refer to Devon Howard and other alternative surfers. . As for surf movies, I like all of Andrew Kidman's films.
Please tell us about your surfing history , surf spots and surf stores you frequent.
Igarashi:I have been surfing for about 13 years. I don't know if I can call myself a local, but the surf spots I often go to are Sunrise or Yong Rise in northern Chiba. It may not be a surf store, but I sometimes go to "Brine" to see Mr. Yoshioka, who is a master of knowledge for me. I learn a lot just by listening to him. And RIDE SURF + SPORT. I think these two are surf stores that you should visit at least once.

Fukumoto:When it comes to "Vans," I personally think the best combination is with simple blue denim. I like to wear it with a rough look. The color of the sneakers, combined with the color of the sneakers, also gives a fresh impression, so I recommend it especially for the coming season.
What image do you have of "Vans" and what kind of brand is "Vans" for you?
Fukumoto:In my mind, it still has a strong image of side-riding. Since I am also in the culture of side-riding, it is one of the indispensable brands for me.
Chris Johansson is a major figure in the West Coast art scene. What do you think of the sneaker design?
Fukumoto:As a San Francisco lover, I can't get enough of it. Chris Johansson is extra good because he has real experience with side riding. I hope to buy some of his work or something someday.
What do you look for when choosing sneakers?
Fukumoto:It's hard to say, since preferences change depending on my mood, but basically, I like simple designs. They are easy to coordinate and I never get tired of them. In that sense, "Vans" sneakers are a staple for me.
. What are you into these days?
Fukumoto:Coffee is the best, but since I spend more time at home in Corona, I also listen to music or play the guitar at home more slowly these days.
