After a year of magazine production, HOUYHNHNM's is moving on to the next phase. One of them is Youtube, but I would like to start many other new things. One of the most rewarding moments in my work as an editor is when I discover a wonderful person, thing, or occasion that is probably not well known yet, and introduce it to the public. I first became aware of Tanaka through a pop-up at First Hand, a store in Miyashita Park. I remember I was intensely intrigued by the clothes displayed in the store, along with the wonderful photographs by photographer Jiro Konami. With that momentum, I decided to go for it.BlogI also wrote about it. After that, I visited the exhibition and had a good look at the items. This is their first appearance on "Shopping Addict". The brand takes a genderless approach, but even so, it is overwhelmingly a women's brand, so items for men are limited, but these two items were among my favorites. These two items were my favorites. A tie-dye dyed big size T-shirt and pants made of thick vintage nylon twill. It is an extremely casual approach, but what they have in common is a clean and sexy look. It has an atmosphere where strength and delicacy coexist. I don't know of any other clothing like this.

I have always loved small patterns. When I was a vintage clothing enthusiast, I used to buy all kinds of 60s shirts from "Campus" and "Van Heusen" under the influence of my seniors. When I was an Ivy fanatic, I often wore small-patterned B.D. shirts and ties, following the style of the "Picture Book Ivy Boy Illustrated Book. Last year, "New Daily Life," a series of articles on the Paul Smith website in Japan, began. Various creators appear in the series, and their portraits and interviews are used to introduce fashions that are appropriate for the current era. One of my best work, finally completed.
Mr. Shin Kobayashi is a stylist who has been working with HOUYHNHNM's since I joined the company. He has a deep knowledge of fashion, of course, but he also has a big brother-like quality to him that makes me want to rely on him when the time comes. The other day, I asked him to do a fashion shoot for the magazine "Finam Unplugged. Without going into detail, he immediately understood my intentions and put together a wonderful styling. Here are the visuals for "SHOPPING CLUB" (pages 142, 144, 146). If you haven't checked them out yet, please do so. What we would like to introduce here is a manufacturing project that Mr. Arata has started. It is a wallet chain that he just recently completed. The prototype is made from silver parts he bought at antique markets and malls overseas. When he was using them by joining disparate pieces together, an antique dealer who saw them suggested he try making one. He chose 925 silver, a material that ages well, and even went to the trouble of making original stamps to engrave letters on the hooks and triangle parts. As the design was inspired by a chain attached to a pocket watch, the finished product is delicate and elegant enough to be worn by both men and women alike. It can be worn with a wallet or keys, and it took about a year from conception to completion. It will be available for order, so if you are interested, please send a DM to Mr. Shin's instagram.

Whenever I go to any restaurant, I am always asked to disinfect my hands, and on my days off or when I go to many restaurants, I always shout in my mind, "I just did that! The power of soup stock.
Recently, I bought a large quantity of beef sinew (500g). I had an image that beef tendon is very troublesome to cook, but it is surprisingly easy. There are only a few troublesome steps, such as cleaning the blood, boiling and washing, but once that is cleared, all you have to do is boil it. The meat was so slimy, but after two hours of cooking, it was tender and juicy. Then the cooking process begins. The recipe is stewed beef tendon. Add konnyaku and daikon radish, soup stock, soy sauce, mirin, sake, and other ingredients, and simmer it in a bowl. The result was very tasty. I think the soup stock and soy sauce were probably good. I used Nikata's dashi stock packet and soy sauce made with Nikata's Dry Dough Bonito Soy Sauce Kit (see the website for details on the kit). Mr. Kaise (a Huinamu blogger) who makes this is Repizen Shizuoka, so through that connection I have access to the best ingredients and make the best dashi. It's also great for miso soup.
