New Balance is recognized as a fashionable item, but how do you see its appeal from a fashion standpoint?
Kaneko: I think it is tasteless and odorless in a good sense. That's why they are easy to match with any outfit. I'm wearing a jacket today, and I can think of no other jogging shoes that can be worn with it except for "New Balance. Historically, the royal style of wearing jogging shoes with a blazer and chinos has been handed down from generation to generation, and I think the reason why it remains as a style is because it is easy to match with other outfits.
As you mentioned earlier, "New Balance" gray also means "blank slate. But on the other hand, it is also the identity of the brand, and the color contains a variety of concepts.
Kaneko: I think the gray color of "New Balance" simply blends in with asphalt. I personally feel that they are shoes to be worn in the city. When I go to New York on business, I sometimes run in Central Park. For some reason, I feel like running in "New Balance" shoes. It's not a competition, and doing so makes me feel good about myself.
