Hashimoto-san, how do you feel about wearing "Tangram"?
Hashimoto:The mock neckline I'm wearing today from Tangram is cool , isn't it? . It is comfortable to wear and the simple design is superb.

Kumagaya:. I like the mock neckline. The BOGEY BOYS cap that I wear and the MALBON GOLF head cover that Atsushi wears on his clubs are very popular in the U.S. I started this brand because I thought it would be nice if such a brand existed in Japan. I started this brand because I wanted such a brand to exist in Japan. I started this brand because I thought that if I started a golf brand, I could use my work as a reason to go golfing (laughs).
Mr. Kumagai wears a polo shirt by Tangram , in a cool monotone color. The cap is by Grammy Award-winning rapper Mack Lemoore's brand, "Bogie Boys.
Mr. Hashimoto's favorite head cover is from MALBON GOLF. The cover for the hybrid in the front right is a rare item, including the U.S. Open model held at Shinnecock Hills GC in 2018.
What was the reason for the brand name "Tangram"?
Kumagaya:Tangram" is a triangular scratch game. In golf, the "△" is the symbol for bogey, and everyone avoids it. So, I thought it would be interesting to use it as the name of the brand, and since it is said that if you name your brand after something that is anti-something, you will be "right on target," I decided to use this name.
Hashimoto:The mock neck is on the neck, and the polo shirt that Mr. Kumagai is wearing has an embroidered logo on the back collar, which is subtle and cool. With this mock neck, it looks good with a jacket , or with a parka.
Kumagaya:The number of items will be increasing, and although they are golf wear, many of them can be worn as street wear as well, so I hope you will mix and match them with your outfits. We are basically selling online, but we are also planning a pop-up at a store called "Club House" in Osaka, so please keep an eye out for it.
As you said, "Tangram" has the elegance of golf wear, but it also has a streetwise feel to it, which I found very refreshing. My last question is, what is it about golf that attracts you so much?
Hashimoto:I really enjoy the time I share with others when I play golf. I think the term "fun golf" fits me well, and if I don't enjoy playing golf, I will have a hard time playing. I also started playing golf in earnest last year, along with the excitement of the game around me. Kumagai-san also started playing golf at the age of 50, and when I saw how fast he was growing, I thought to myself, "Wow, I need to practice too! I have to practice too," but I hope I can keep up at my own pace (laughs).
Kumagai is currently in the process of trying out the latest brands of clubs and experimenting with the right gear for him. Eventually, he is also considering vintage clubs.
Mr. Kumagai's three favorite drivers, which he says "have a good feel. The "SIM" driver is for draws, he says.
Kumagaya:I practice five days a week (laughs).
Hashimoto:. You can also make the most of your time. On weekday mornings, I can go to the club for an hour before work, or if I play through the course early in the morning, I can come back to Tokyo in the morning and start working in the afternoon. I can go in the water early in the morning and work in the afternoon, which is similar to the pace of surfing, so I can easily accept it and really make the most of my day.

Kumagaya:What I want to say to the readers who are looking at this is that you should start playing golf when you are young. I started playing golf when I was 50 years old, but if I had started earlier, maybe I would have become a semi-professional (laughs). (laughs) . That's how addicted I am to golf, and it's such an interesting sport. It's been a long time since I've been as into golf as I am into surfing. . I started when I was 50 years old, but I can hit the ball so well, so there's no better time to start.
