I'm really confident in these clothes, and if people wear them, it will become a habit.
Miyoshi-san, what are your expectations for " APRESSE "?
Miyoshi: Rather than what I expect, I would like to see how the people at the stores and customers wear Aplesse's clothes and how they communicate on Instagram if they decide to carry the brand overseas in the future. I think it is a very Japanese product.
Shigematsu: This kind of domestic clothing is not very good at overseas strategy. They are ordinary but expensive, so it is hard for them to be appreciated.
Miyoshi: But looking at the installations, I think it's becoming a little more accepted. I am curious about what kind of brands the store owner combines with. In Japan, I think it is common to propose a combination of brands that have a similar atmosphere, but overseas, it doesn't matter. I would like to do the same thing at 1LDK. For example, if the traditional way of wearing this denim with a Patagonia fleece is to wear it with a Patagonia fleece, I would like to try wearing it with a Patagonia fleece with an AND WONDER fleece.

Shigematsu: It is true that such combinations by people from overseas are natural and fashionable. In Japan, people tend to look at them as if they are eccentric. What is considered "taboo" here is not the same there.
Miyoshi: I guess I would choose a combination that I feel comfortable with. I think it would be cool to match designer clothes with ordinary clothes like this. I think it would be interesting if we could make such proposals.
. As a brand, we don't say, "This is how we want you to wear it.
Shigematsu: Not at all. That is up to the customer. I don't think that I myself would ever buy all of my products from "appliqués. But if someone wants to do so, of course they are welcome to do so. The other dayMr. Tani of "Imagine."I told Mr. Tani that, from his point of view, "Aplesse" seems to be "conversely strange clothing" (laughs). (Laughs.) Because he usually sees only unusual clothes, he seems to think that ordinary clothes like this are "strange," which is also interesting. So I am a bit curious to see what kind of proposals will be made in "Imagine.

BD Shirt ¥37,800
. inspired by the twill B.D. shirts of the 90s. The fabric is 100/2 Supima cotton double-weave twill, which is sulfide-dyed and slightly raised, and bio-processed in the manufacturing process to give it a vintage look. The soft, full, and comfortable feel against the skin is something that can only be achieved with high-quality materials. Sewn at a dress shirt factory, the needles are very fine and carefully tailored.
I see.
Miyoshi: . But I don't want it to be too brand-like. Brands that start out with such a small number of models increase in number with each new season. I understand the feeling of wanting to make more products, but if there are a lot of them, I get quite self-conscious, so I would like you to keep it low-key (laughs).
Shigematsu: Is it that plain? (Laughs)
Do you have any goals for the future?
Shigematsu: I think it's amazing that people continue to work on a brand for even 10 years, and I think it's also amazing that they continue to be recognized for it. In the case of APRESSE, even if it is not recognized as a brand, if the items we produce remain in the hands of our customers for a long time and they become attached to them, that is the best thing for me. It is strange for me to say this, but I am really confident in my clothes, and I think that if people wear them, they will become addicted to them, so I hope that they will pick them up.
