You are wearing a shawl-colored sweat gown from the "9 oz. Terry Fleece" series, which was developed based on the classic fleece that was popular in the 90s. What is your impression of it?

I sometimes direct brands and do special order projects. In doing so, I like to create something that fits the current mood, something that has never been seen before, and something that will give people a chance to get to know the brand. This gown is in line with that idea, and I wondered if such an idea existed. This gown is made in the USA from a fabric that is based on the history of "Champion," but it is a new type of gown that was not available at the time. It is this kind of surprise that makes me look forward to the new Champion collection every season.

It has a sense of history, but it also has a fresh feel.

I still like the eyeball logo (C logo) on the sleeve. I think the origin of having the logo on the sleeve is that schools and other brands left the chest open for printing. It is hard to notice because it is so casual, but the moment you see it, you realize "You are Champion! I like that.

The shirt coordinates well with the shirt, giving it a mature and sophisticated look.

I was gobsmacked by the industrial-looking matte colors, so I decided to go with a monotone look. If I'm going to have an American brand as the main focus, I don't want to coordinate it too much in an American way. Conversely, if I'm going to coordinate European brands as the main focus, I want to make it look American. Today, I paired a band-collar shirt that was inspired by a British military shirt with black-dyed French M52 pants.

How is it comfortable to wear?

I like "Champion" because it is stylish daily wear and comfortable enough to wear at home. Gowns are usually worn when you want to relax. With this gown, you can be stylish and wear it at home. The shoulders are slouchy, which is very modern, and I think the silhouette fits the Japanese physique.

STYLE 2 Distinctive details to match your favorite outfits.

This sweatshirt is a reissue of the first Reverse Weave ®︎, which was developed in 1934 and patented in 1938. Do you remember the first time you wore the Reverse Weave ®︎?

In the 80's, in the magazine BeginMr. Tsai (Rhino Representative)I found out about it through the "10-Year Player Mono Gatari" Series, in which he introduces his favorite products. I bought one myself, but it was totally different from his personal items. I learned that washing and wearing a garment over and over again brings out the best in the fabric. Now, I am wearingYouTubeThat is the starting point for aging, which I have mentioned many times in

I see! This one has many distinctive details, as it is a faithful reproduction of the vintage one.

It has seamless shoulders made of a single piece of fabric with no seams on the shoulders, and the front and back have the same pattern. That's what I like about it. The V-shaped gussets on the front and back are an imprinted vintage detail, but I didn't know the deeper meaning.

The V-shaped gusset is sometimes called a "sweat stop," but in reality it is a detail that makes it easier to put on and take off.

That means it is functional beauty. It means that it was not designed by a clothing designer, but originally had another meaning, and as a result, it is a design accent. The color looks almost oatmeal, although it is officially specified as silver gray. The color looks a little different depending on how the light hits it. I also like the runner's tag, which is the same as it was back then.

Mr. Katano sees commonalities between Machinuka, which has been loved for many years, and Champion. "When you actually taste the food or try on the sleeves, you can say, 'Yes, yes, this is what I want,'" he says.

How do you feel about the silhouette when you wear it?

Sweatshirts shrink slightly when washed. But that's what makes it taste so good. Today I am wearing one that has been washed twice, and I was really torn between a medium and a large. I didn't want to wear it that oversized, but when I washed the L size, it turned out just fine; when I washed the M size, I think I got the sizing I liked 10 years ago. If I were younger, I would have gone with the XL size.

You are very particular about the size. How did you dress for it?

As with the coordination of the gowns, I added European elements. The pants are a special order I had made. They are a mix of French military pants called M47 cargo pants and M52 chinos. A white shirt is layered under the sweatshirt. I like the classic coordination of wearing a white shirt under a sweatshirt or knit. Moreover, this reverse weave ®︎ has the same pattern on the front and back, so the way the neck looks is unique. When you look at it from the back, the collar sticks out more than usual, and the balance is loose in a good way.

What kind of a presence does "Champion" have for you?

They evoke the thrill I had when I first became interested in fashion, even now that I am an adult. Moreover, they are not just nostalgic, but evolving and stimulating. It is always there, and you never get tired of it. It may be like a Machuuka where you don't have to wait in line to enjoy a delicious meal and where you can find innovative menu items.
