The charm of A.P.C. cannot be described in a few words.
What kind of brand is A.P.C. to you?
It's a brand I've always liked, and I guess I feel comfortable with it. . But I can't describe its appeal in just one word. I first became aware of the brand when it had just been established, and I still remember looking for an "A.P.C." store when I happened to be in Paris at the time. Also, I have always loved the visuals they create, and I have quite a few of their old catalogs in my collection.
Have your impressions of the brand changed from when it was first launched to now?
Strictly speaking, I think things have changed a little bit, but I think the good parts have always remained. I first learned about the brand when I was around 17 or 18 years old, but I don't think I was able to see the designer Jean Tuitou's view of the world at that time. I think I came to understand it more and more later, as I worked and experienced things. I think it is wonderful that you have such depth.

Do you have any items that you have used since that time?
I still wear the P-coat. It might be easy to say that the material was good, but I feel that quality materials of that era were used, and I think I still wear it because it is a form that I have always loved.
It is a quintessential design and quality that can be worn for many years, isn't it? What is your impression of denim?
. I actually started wearing denim quite recently. However, when I actually tried it on, I realized, belatedly, why it is so popular.
Do you have a favorite model?
Petit Standard. The slightly tapered, modern look was new to me at the time . That's when I decided to give it a try, and that's when I started wearing "A.P.S." denim.

Do you enjoy color fading or "grow" your denim?
I was never really interested in denim before, but now that I have a child, my knees stretch when I carry him or her in my arms, and denim has become more textured in my daily life. I didn't intend to grow up with denim, but as a result, it became an extension of my daily life, and I felt that I could understand what is good about denim in a surprising way.

Butler Denim ¥33,000~.
A.P.C. also offers a service called the "Butler Program," whereby worn-out A.P.C. denim can be exchanged for new denim at half price if it meets certain standards, such as color fading, etc. The recovered denim is then repaired and sold in new stores.
Some people might want to buy their own repaired denim again. . If it were me, I might be tempted to buy them if I saw them on the store shelves in a better condition.
There are many people who want denim with realistic color fading, so it seems to be selling well.
It's a new way of presenting clothes, which is typical of a brand that has been around for a long time. . It is interesting to increase the number of channels in this way. In that sense, " A.P.C." has a lot of drawers, so I think it is possible to increase the number of ways to play with fashion.
Style with JEAN STANDARD
Today's "Jean Standard" has a thicker silhouette than your favorite "Petit Standard", how did you feel when you tried it on?
I thought that "Gene Standard" was a relatively new model, but I was surprised when I was told by the press that it was a reprint of a model that was developed in the early days of the brand. I thought that was why it had a somewhat old-fashioned and reassuring feel to it.
Do you think that the top-and-bottom denim styling is the kind of denim style that you want to propose now?
Yes, that's right. A.P.C.'s denim has an urban and sophisticated impression. Therefore, I think there is a good point that "A.P.S." can make a bold combination of denim and denim look surprisingly sharp, even if it would look unattractive if it were another brand.
Style with New Standard
Blouson ¥36,300
A: The other model, "New Standard," is one of the brand's most popular models, how did you like it?
In my opinion, they are the most orthodox. Like "GENE STANDARD," I could wear them very naturally because I felt like I wasn't forcing myself.
A.P.C.: When choosing denim from 〈A.P.C.〉, is there anything you pay attention to in terms of size?
As for the size, I don't care about how many inches or any other fine numbers, as long as there is a certain amount of looseness. If I wear my clothes neatly, they don't suit me very well, so I like to have a little bit of openness. However, if the size is too big and the clothes look too modern, I go down a size and enjoy the sense of distance from the trend. I think that's the best part of choosing the right size.
