The Vans WAYVEE brings out the true value of the skater .

Skate shoes require durability, cushioning, fit, design, and many other factors. Vans' skate shoes, in particular, have gained tremendous support from skaters all over the world. The reason for this is that they develop their shoes while listening to the real opinions of skaters. The new "Wayvee," which debuted in September of this year, was born out of this honest approach to manufacturing. To find out what makes Wayvee so appealing, we asked 12 riders of different generations and genders to try them on at four skate parks.

How long have you all been skating at Hina Skatepark?

Maeda:. when the park was built, so about two years ago.

Uemura:Me too, about 2 years ago. There weren't that many sections back then.

Kishimoto:Ore about a year ago .

What is the attraction of this park?

Uemura:It's so nice because the sections change from time to time.

Kishimoto:I guess it's the height of the rail and where we can all practice together.

Maeda:. where you can try new tricks and challenge high rails like in the parks in Kanto.

What kind of impression do you have when you hear the name "Vans"?

Uemura:The image of the logo on a skateboard is really strong (laughs).

Maeda:Indeed . It's been around for a long time, hasn't it?

Kishimoto:Vans" has stuck to the same attitude as a brand, which makes it easy to use all the time.

What do you look for when choosing skate shoes?

Uemura:. the thickness of the sole, the grip, the length of the laces, and so on. . I choose shoes that are easy to skate in.

Maeda:First of all, the design. Then the insoles and so on. I wear shoes that are in good shape all the time.

Kishimoto:. I like stubby shoes and wear them as large as possible. If they are too small, my fingers get sore when I fall down.

. Please tell us about the models you wore this time and your impressions of wearing them.

Kishimoto:I'm wearing the basic "Black White". They are easy to match with any clothes and are in good shape. The insole is thick, so my heel didn't hurt.

Maeda:I am "Brighton". The floral pattern is cute and it's a popular skater model for girls, so the fit is great and the shoe is easy to use.

Uemura:Me too "Brighton". I thought the floral pattern was a charm and the mesh part was see through, which I thought was really cute. The insole is thick, so it can withstand impact easily and doesn't hurt my feet.

What is your favorite part?

Uemura:Flowers. The coloring is very cute, with just a hint of yellow and yellowish green.

Maeda:The mesh used and the insole, after all. It is well cushioned and easy to bear.

Kishimoto:It has good cushioning and looks cool.

What did you think of this session?

Maeda:It was fun. You weren't alone, so it was a lot of fun.

Kishimoto:I'm glad I was able to ski in my own way.

Uemura:It was more fun because it was easier to attack when we skated together.

Finally, what do you want to see from VAN'S in the future?

Kishimoto:I would like you to sponsor me (laughs).

Uemura:I would like to be sponsored too!

Maeda:I would like to get more girls street skaters on the team to make it more exciting. Right now it is difficult with the new Corona, but it would be great if we could all go on tour together!
