The Vans WAYVEE brings out the true value of the skater .

Skate shoes require durability, cushioning, fit, design, and many other factors. Vans' skate shoes, in particular, have gained tremendous support from skaters all over the world. The reason for this is that they develop their shoes while listening to the real opinions of skaters. The new "Wayvee," which debuted in September of this year, was born out of this honest approach to manufacturing. To find out what makes Wayvee so appealing, we asked 12 riders of different generations and genders to try them on at four skate parks.

Please begin by describing the park.

Makino:It's still unfinished and not open to the public yet, but it's a MxMxM (Magical Mosh Misfits) skate park. We are planning to turn the parking lot outside into a park as well, so everyone is welcome to come when it is completed.

How do you feel about sliding?

Sasaki:The space between sections is short and very tight and difficult. I think I will be able to handle it.

Shed field:Yes, I'm already feeling squeamish and comfortable!

What kind of impression do you have when you hear the name "Vans"?

Makino:I started wearing them because I admired Tony Trujillo, so I have an image of them being cool and rock 'n' roll. I also love "Vans" the most among skate shoes because they are soft and easy to use.

Sasaki:I have a strong image of bowl skaters wearing them.

Shed field:They look simple and I've been wearing them for a long time, but they are soft, simple, cool, and have a masculine image.

What do you look for when choosing skate shoes?

Makino:Fit and softness. I also try to choose shoes that make it easy to feel the board with the sole of my foot. If they are hard, they don't fit well, and if they don't fit well, I feel like I'm sliding and it's not my foot, so I'm careful about that.

Sasaki:Shoes that fit the shape of my feet. Also, you are concerned about softness.

Shed field:I want them to fit the shape of my feet , and to be sturdy.

. Please tell us about the models you wore this time and your impressions of wearing them.

Makino:I'm "Black White". The colors are easy to match. Also, my feet get stuffy when skating, so the mesh material makes them comfortable to wear.

Sasaki:I am a "Brighton". It fit the shape of my foot , and the insole was soft. I thought there would be less burden on my feet. I think they are easy for girls to wear because of the floral pattern and the yellow and green colors.

Shed field:I am "Tyson". Tyson Peterson is the guy with the dreads, right? Actually, I don't know the skater at all, but I like him a lot (laughs). He seems to skate with a lot of fun. I listen to a lot of reggae music, so I think the rasta colors are a good way to show it off in a subtle way... I think it's a good point.

What are your favorite features of each model?

Makino:I think the outsole is solid and durable. And then there is the mesh material.

Sasaki:I think the best part is that the heel of the insole is very thick and does not hurt my feet.

Shed field:They were soft from the moment I put them on, and the corners were easily removed and slippery even when they were new!

You also wore a pair of Vans chinos, how did they feel?

Makino:. I thought they were easy to wear and the silhouette was easy to match. It is also nice to see the "Vans" pith name when rolled up.

Sasaki:The belt loops on the back are in the shape of a "V" and the fabric is firm enough that it would be hard to tear if I fell. I thought it would be durable and last a long time.

Shed field:The length is very long, so those with long legs will be able to show off their long legs. . And the red stitching on the lining is really cute. . The seams are also individually tight, and I think they will last for a long time.

How was the session?

Makino:I tried tricks and lines that I don't usually do, so it was difficult, but I think I was able to leave some good footage and photos.

Sasaki:I hadn't skied with many people recently, so it had been a while and was a lot of fun. Everyone was really good, and it made me want to do my best.

Shed field:I am happy to be able to get together and ski with everyone at Highsox!

Lastly, is there anything you would like to see VAN'S do in the future?

Makino:. I would like you to open a main competition of the Vans Park Series in Japan. I think it would be a great opportunity to see real professional skaters skate live. I would be happy if there are more events like that.

Sasaki:It may be difficult now with the new Corona, but I would like to hold a contest at a special venue and have everyone ski together.

Shed field:I hope that "Vans" will continue to be cool, unchanged and unwavering! I will continue to wear them!
