Nakamura has successfully completed his own unique watch from among the approximately 1.9 million variations of "MY G-SHOCK. We asked him what he thought after experiencing this service.
I think all G-Shock watches are attractive, but ready-made items are made by people, so I don't think you can find something perfect for you anywhere in the world. In that sense, this service can create something that is as close to 100% as possible. It eliminates the feeling of 'it would be better if this color was here.
Nakamura was impressive this time, as he did not take his time in selecting each piece, but rather quickly tried out various color combinations and repeated trial and error with the various parts in his hands. I felt his innocent boyishness when he said with a laugh, "I was so confused.
But it was a lot of fun to think about it all. As I combined various colors, I thought I would be lost for the rest of my life unless I decided on a theme, so I narrowed it down to colors that were associated with me. The combination of purple, the color of his hometown Kyoto, and Hinomaru, the color of the Japanese flag, reflecting the feelings he developed after participating in an international sports festival, is truly a one-of-a-kind coloring that only he could have found.
As I mentioned earlier, I used to wear a gold G-Shock at international sports festivals to make a wish, but now that I've put that to rest, I'm going to wear this watch to help boost Kyoto, my hometown. It's not that I'm a big fan of purple (laugh), but I can feel Kyoto by wearing this color, and the coloring is meaningful, so I'm excited. I also like the fact that the belt loop subtly shows Japan's colors without seeming like it's just for the sake of it. I'm glad I was able to make a really good one.
Now, several months after the excitement of the end of the season, Nakamura says he is free from the pressure of those days and "genuinely enjoying riding a bike again. We asked him about his goals for the future.
I still have some regrets, but I don't think there is probably anything more frustrating than this. So, in that sense, I have switched to a positive mindset. I have a world-class competition coming up, so I want to focus on that and achieve a good result. I will do my best while wearing this watch to lift my spirits!
