Studied under Masahiko Sakata of "Archive & Style. After working as a designer for corporations, select stores, and sports brands, he started "All Most Black" with Shunta Nakajima in 2015, launched his own brand "Product All Most Black" in 2007, and changed the brand name to "Product Twelve" in 2009.
From the very beginning of the brand's establishment, we had been thinking of creating a store.
The opening of the store took place not long after the brand was launched in November last year, about a year. It's a very fast development.
Nakamuro:The idea of creating a store had been in our minds since the establishment of the company in order to convey the brand's world view. We thought it was necessary to have a physical store where we could showcase the entire Monolith lineup so that people could get to know what Monolith is all about. Monolith bags are designed to be versatile and to be used in a variety of situations by a variety of users, and even a single backpack has slightly different details for the STANDARD, OFFICE, and PRO models. We wanted to have users compare and contrast the actual products.
You had a plan to open a store as soon as possible from the very beginning.
Nakamuro:We had planned to open one or two stores within a year of the launch. While we were looking for an area where our intended user base would prefer to store, we had a chance to open a store in the Shin-Marunouchi Building.
Above is a one-minute video made to commemorate the opening of Monolith Marunouchi.
It seems like Monolith is a good match for the Marunouchi clientele.
Nakamuro:That's right. In Marunouchi, there are many people who work in suits, but there are also many creators who work in casual attire. Monoliths' products are designed to be versatile and to appeal to a wide range of business people with different styles. In that sense, I think Shin-Marunouchi Building is a good match.
I think the brand is doing very well.
Nakamuro:I analyze the design from various vectors, such as numerical values and my own skin sensations, but I think that the customers are impressed by its ultimate simple design that retains authenticity, yet it is very functional. I think the solid design fits in with any style, and the functionality fits with the times, as more and more people carry smartphones and computers. Surprisingly, there have been no such bags until now, and I think many people have been searching for them.

Monolith" has "STANDARD", "OFFICE", and "PRO" levels for each item, such as backpacks and tote bags, don't you? I feel that it is important for customers to be able to choose what fits their own style.
Nakamuro:To our surprise, the "PRO" model is selling by far the best. At first, we thought that the relatively low-priced "STANDARD" would sell the best, but we were surprised to find that this was not the case.I had a chance to have a conversation with Daisuke Kamide of Teatra right after we established the brand. In addition, we had a pop-up at "Reshop" in Minami Aoyama at the same time as the launch. This was a great opportunity for us to gain the attention of highly sensitive people. I feel that many of these customers are of the mindset that "if I'm going to buy something, I want something good and high-spec.
