PROFILE
Born in Tokyo in 1977. Studied under stylist Haruhisa Shirayama and became independent in 2008. While styling for magazines, advertisements, and celebrities, he also started his own brand "R.M GANG. In recent years, he has also started a YouTube video streaming service, offering a variety of fashion ideas.
The items are minimalistic, but they allow you to push your own style.

I get the impression that you usually enjoy coordinating set-ups, not just sweatshirts.
Takahashi:I wear them as if they were my uniform, as if wearing them gives me a character.
Do sweatshirts make a big appearance in your collection?
Takahashi:It is becoming more and more. I try on items from various brands, and I also design for my own brand. When I start pursuing fabrics, sizes, and silhouettes, it is quite profound.
I get the sense that the sweatshirt set-up has become a popular fashion style over the past few years.
Takahashi:I think the same is true of suits, but recently there are fewer people wearing neat set-ups with shoulder pads. On the other hand, more and more people are wearing suits with stretchy fabrics or in a casual mood, and many people are enjoying fashion with relaxed shoulders. I think that people are not so much in the mood for flashy designs anymore.

I think that when the design quality is high, the sense of wearing the brand and the designer's ideology is also included, but when it comes to sweatshirt items like this, there is a sense of respecting one's own personality. There is a sense of blank space.
Takahashi:That's right. Recently, a variety of sweatshirt items have been released. Some are wide silhouettes, while others are skinny. There are various options for tops and pants.
This "1000 SERIES" also has a regular fit and an oversize fit, and can be worn crossed over at the top and bottom. Sweatshirts are minimalistic items, but by paying attention to such details, I think it is possible to find out what makes you unique. In that sense, I'm really into it right now (laughs).
