How Stylists Use Danner x Briefing Items Vol. 2 Shinya Endo

Danner" and "BRIEFING" have always valued their identities and have continued to create robust products, no matter what the times have been like. The two companies have come together to launch a new line of bags and shoes. How superior are these masterpieces created under the keyword of "toughness"? How do the two stylists, who wander the streets daily in search of inspiration, shoot in a variety of environments, and are particular about bags and shoes, use the items? The second is Shinya Endo, an interior stylist who struggles with huge luggage such as sofas and tables on a daily basis.

When you collect props for a shoot, you visit stores like this and actually see and shop for them, don't you?

Endo:I try to visit stores as much as time permits. Courtly" is not a store, but an interior leasing shop, which I visit frequently. They have an outstanding sense of selection.

Do you have other favorite places to go?

Endo:Some leasing shops specialize in plants, some places specialize in tableware, etc. I would say there are about 10 places I frequent.

How do you get inspiration?

Endo:I visit stores, and I also check the web quite a bit. Before Corona, I used to go to "Milano Salone" every April in Milan, which is a kind of Paris Collection of furniture, and I never missed it. I always made it a point to go there to see new furniture from all over the world. It was a great learning opportunity, but I don't think I will be able to go there again this year.

Do various images come to your mind when you go abroad?

Endo:Yes, but I don't really want to go there as a tourist.

What do you mean?

Endo:For example, you stay at a stylish hotel. When that happens, I become so interested in the interior design that I can't even go sightseeing (laughs). (Laughs.) This happens even when I stop by a café while walking around town. ...... It's something I like to do, but it makes me tired. So when it comes to sightseeing, I prefer places like Hawaii (laughs).

It's totally an occupational hazard (laughs).

Endo:On a similar note, it's the same when watching movies and such. The more fashionable the movie becomes, the more I am too concerned about the set behind it rather than the people in it, and I cannot get into the content at all. I wonder how they are made and what I would do if it were me.

So you can't even watch movies casually.

Endo:The rate of occupational diseases developing in unexpected places is high (laughs).

I always thought the accessories you carried, including the wallet you just took out, were also very nice.

Endo:Thank you very much. In terms of interior design, as well as in terms of things we wear and use on a daily basis, we choose things with this in mind, because we become attached to them only after we have used them for a long time.

The bags and shoes in the current collection are also very durable, so we hope you will use them for a long time.

Endo:I have never used a "Briefing" bag, but the pen case I am using now is from "Briefing. I don't remember where I bought it, but I think I've been using it for about five years. It must be worn out from being taken in and out so much, but it hasn't worn out at all. Danner is a strong brand, and I am sure that this collaboration item will become an indispensable part of my life in the future.
