Oto:Rather than people with cutting-edge gear, it is cool to see people with old, worn-out, austere tools. Instead of wearing high-brand clothes all over, they bring in new items here and there, but wear their usual favorites as the foundation of their outfit.

I see. Is there anything you two are conscious of in terms of fashion when you go fishing?

Fukunaga:We want to follow TPO (time, place, and occasion). We wear clothes that are appropriate for fishing, but we also like clothes, so we also want to be stylish. We want to dress in a way that is appropriate for fishing, but we also pay attention to the design, silhouette, and coloring.

Oto:It's perfect. It's not too much fishing-oriented, it's functional yet fashionable, and I think it fits the style we are looking for. I have the impression that "Gramichi" is all about climbing pants, and since I run a vintage clothing store, I try to stock pants in good condition when I find them. The pants I am wearing now are also made of nylon with a water-repellent finish, a fabric suitable for fishing. I also like the mesh pockets because they look like fishing pockets. . Above all, they are easy to move around in, so I didn't have any stress when moving around on the rocky shore as I did today.

Fukunaga:I also got a pair of "Gramichi" pants last year and have been wearing them for a long time. They were very useful when I was camping. I like that they are easy to move around in.

Do you have any challenges you would like to take on in the future?

Fukunaga:I would like to try tenkara. . with a simpler fishing method than today.

Oto:Our rods today were equipped with reels, but tenkara fishing is done without a reel. We are going to compete with only a rod, a line, and a hook.

Oto:It's a devil's task (laughs). It really tests your skills. You have to be careful not to make any noise, and your manners are very important.

Oto:I would also like to try ocean fishing. . because the gears and everything are different. I also want to try sea bass fishing and squid fishing . I can't stop fishing after all (laughs).
