[Claire] Champion.T1011 T-shirt UCLA/White ¥6,490 (wears size XL)
Have the points for choosing "Champion" items changed between now and then?
What has changed since I became an adult is that I now choose black sweatshirts instead of gray. As with any item, when I was younger I used to buy "what I wanted," but as I get older I tend to buy "what looks good on me," which I find strange. It is strange that as we get older, we start to buy "what suits us". I haven't been able to go abroad much recently, but when I went to the U.S., I bought a large size sweatshirt hoodie from overseas.

As you grow older, you really start to understand what suits you, don't you? Certainly, your taste changes from when you were younger. For your next outfit, you chose the T1011 T-shirt.
I chose "UCLA" intuitively because I love L.A. I happened to see a Champion T-shirt in a fashion snapshot of people from overseas that appeared in the media. I happened to see a Champion T-shirt in a media snapshot of people from overseas. I thought the rough look was really cool.
I see that this styling was inspired by that aspect of your work. Combined with the bright colors of the rubber print, I felt the fresh air of the West Coast.
That's right. The base is American casual, but I wanted to incorporate a roughness that would not be too goofy. The black denim is also a story of "I saw my girlfriend wearing a pair of black skinny denim that she liked so much that I bought them myself. I wanted to incorporate a roughness that would evoke that kind of background. I wanted to incorporate that kind of roughness, like wearing a T-shirt from my alma mater, my university. Of course, I am a Japanese university (laughs). (laughs). I wanted to create an atmosphere in which such a story could be told. This large stole was sold at a motel in L.A. When I feel cold with just a T-shirt on, I can throw it on quickly.

People overseas have a strong "love for their hometown" or "love for their alma mater. I have the image that cheering for the local team is a part of their life.
I admire that feeling. When I was in elementary school, I used to wear a Yomiuri Giants cap, but as an adult, it's difficult to be like a stiff cheering section (laughs). I'm influenced by that part of America in terms of generation. I also like the roughness of the shop, which makes it feel less like a clothing store. Select stores are full of "clothes nerds" in the best sense of the word, so it's like "you can't go wrong with this outfit," or "you have to wear this combination ......." But it's not like that. But I wanted to embody a more realistic and casual American casual style. Champion" naturally fits into that category, so for me, it strikes the right balance.
