A new shoe from adidas Originals that fits in with the city and harmonizes with the environment.

When we try to create environmentally friendly products, we generally end up with a "sass" design. The appearance is soft and the materials are soft. But this is not the case with "adidas Originals. The most important priority is coolness. Then, we added environmental considerations. The result is the "adidas Originals by Parley" collection, created in collaboration with the marine conservation organization "Parley for the Oceans (Parley for the Oceans). Three icons who will create the value of the next generation will wear the shoes, which are based on the classic models of the past and combine design and environmental consideration at a high level.

. values for the body and the environment that I learned abroad.

Sekikawa-san, many people have an image of you from "Terrace House," but what are you currently doing?

Sekigawa:. I've been doing freelance modeling, helping my father with his electrical work, and helping a friend with his farming business.

You have traveled abroad, haven't you?

Sekigawa:I've been to Australia on a working holiday after graduating from college, and I've visited California several times for work and personal reasons. . And also Hawaii, which I visited on "Terrace House".

I think surf culture is rooted in every city, and you started surfing there under the influence of surf culture.

Sekigawa:My grandfather's house is in Yamagata , and I have loved snowboarding since elementary school. I had felt the fun of side-skiing there, but since I lived in Saitama, where there is no ocean, I had no chance to try surfing. Then, when I went to Australia after graduating from university, a local recommended me to try it, and I was hooked.

Why did you come to Australia in the first place?

Sekigawa:At my part-time job at the time, English was required to become a full-time employee. So, I went to Australia to learn English. I was supposed to go to school there, but in the end I didn't. Instead, I spent my days surfing and playing with the locals. . But I learned English by talking with the locals (laughs).

Do you have any other values that you have gained from living abroad?

Sekigawa:In Japan, it is common to have one occupation. However, people over there are doing so many different things. I was culture-shocked and realized that I did not have to be tied down to one thing. So, I now call myself a freelancer.

People who live in that area are very health-conscious, and I have the impression that what they use and what they eat are organic.

Sekigawa:I learned that kind of mindset as well. From there, I went in about three rounds. I went gluten-free, and there was a time when I didn't eat any animal products. But I was really tired during that period. I didn't feel like surfing, and I couldn't be active at all. . Then, I thought it would be healthier to practice things like carrying my own bottle and being healthy both physically and mentally.

Do you have a good balance of mind and body now?

Sekigawa:I feel much better. I can stay active and have goals.

Can you tell us about your goal?

Sekigawa:Right now, I'm studying to become a licensed electrician while accompanying my dad to work. . So, the first thing I want to do is to get that certification. Also, I have started a company in Hawaii to coordinate the introduction of local spots in the area. I haven't been able to start it yet because I was transferred to Corona at that time, but once Corona is open, I will have to work hard on that as well.
