A new form of support.
I was browsing Instagram and one of the Stories caught my eye. The post was a fashion photo, tagged with an unfamiliar account. Curious, I tapped on it and jumped to the Pictures for Purpose website. The "about" section clearly stated that it was a foundation that sells prints by famous photographers online for 125 euros each and donates the proceeds to help solve pressing social issues. The timing of my check was to support Ukraine, and the sale was limited to March 10-24; 45 photographers were on the list. Among those I purchased was the work of Jamie Hawksworth. I was very impressed with his solo exhibition at Taka Ishii Gallery a few years ago and wanted to purchase his photographs if I had the chance someday. I was worried about whether I would receive them since I ordered them from an overseas website, but they arrived safely in mid-April. The frames I requested from "Zimpla" in Ebisu have finally arrived, so I am going to hang them in my house. By the way, the size of the print is 20 x 30 cm and it is not signed by the artist. I would like to use "Pictures for Purpose" again in the future if I have the chance.
