I bought my car inspired by Yvon.
How long have you been a Patagonia fan?
Katsuyama:I bought my first pair when I was about 18 years old. At the time, American brands such as Ralph Lauren were gaining momentum, and Patagonia was one of them. From there, I learned about the background of Patagonia, the environment, and Yvon's ideas, and I guess I fell in love with the brand even more. I think it is important for me to be able to feel the thoughts of the makers of the food and clothing I eat and wear.
I can feel the creator's thoughts and feelings. The bag you are carrying now is also made by Patagonia, isn't it?

Katsuyama:I don't remember the name of the bag, but it came with a gift from Patagonia. I use it as a bag.
For your information, what kinds of Patagonia items have you worn in the past?
Katsuyama:I wore the "DAS Hoodie" so much in my 20's. . . I also wore "baggy shorts" all the time. Yes, there are times when I don't wear them, but I always have a few in my closet, and the time comes when I want to wear them again.

Mr. Katsuyama, you are always busy, but when do you wear "Capilene"?
Katsuyama:I wear it as a base layer for "Suigen no Mori Camp Land" because it is physically active. . Of course, there are times when I wear it alone. Also, I sometimes climb low mountains, so it works well for that as well. It dries quickly, so it stays dry all the time, and it is very lightweight.

Katsuyama:There was also another episode in Patagonia where I saw Yvon and other North American climbers driving Subaru Outbacks. So, my current car is a Subaru Outback. I am heavily influenced by them (laughs).
