Kurashima-san, the leader of the group, loves to cook and always cooks his own breakfast. I used to cook an Australian breakfast as a reminder of my time in Australia during my work holiday there, and I also take the initiative in cooking at BBQs. After cutting fresh vegetables from nearby farms and preparing meat and drinks, the party was about to begin.




The people who work at "Relish" and its parent company, & Supply Inc., are always looking for input, even when they are off the clock. They are always looking for creative hints. From the outside, they may look like a group of people doing what they love, but behind the scenes there is hard work as well. Mr. Kurashima says, "We are always on the lookout for new ideas.
I want all employees to do what they want to do, but as our representative, Izawa, often says, "Doing what you love is not work. To do what you love, you have to do what you hate. That's why you have to study even when you are off the job. For example, it is no good for a graphic designer to be ignorant of current design trends. That is why you have to visit exhibitions and read art books. You have to keep your antenna up on a regular basis. I think it is because we all make such behind-the-scenes efforts that we are able to do what we love.


Mr. Tsuchizutsuchi, an interior designer at & Supply Inc. also does not lack for input on a daily basis. He usually reads design magazines, visits interior design stores, and reads articles on subjects other than design. What do these design professionals think of Ijpigi's sunglasses?
I want to say first of all that it's too cheap for the way it's made (laughs). I think that point is really great. Also, the shape is authentic, but the color is catchy, and I like the balance between the two. As a gimmick lover, I also like the spring mechanism at the hinge. The price is not commensurate with the quality of the product, and it shows.



Yumi joined & Supply Inc. one year and two months ago. He originally worked as a press for an apparel brand, and then changed jobs when he joined Corona. Currently, he is the director of MYTONE, a home goods brand launched by the company. I am happy to be at the helm of a brand that I truly believe in," he said. The brand itself was just recently launched, so I feel like I'm really nurturing it.
Yumi had been interested in Ijpigi sunglasses since her previous job. Actually, another department at my previous job handled Ijpigi sunglasses. I thought the design was cute, and when I saw it being sold at the MoMA Design Store in Harajuku, I was curious about it. When I actually tried it on, I found it really easy to wear, and I like that the price is reasonable, so I can wear it without hesitation.


Once my stomach was full, I spread melted chocolate on the banana to make a chocolate banana. I'm sure it tastes great, but perhaps there was a better way to make it. I'm sure. But this is also the beauty of BBQ and the depth of "relish". As long as it tastes good, it's fine! said Moeko, the youngest member of the group.
We have been following "relish" on and off throughout the two days, and I think that both the art created by "relish" and the sunglasses by "izipigi" fit the times with their moderate lack of power, without being too cool or too assertive. Their centripetal force is ageless.
