Masanobu Ando, an actor whom I had the pleasure of photographing for an ADAM ET ROPÉ project. When I actually met him, I found that he was a quiet person with a unique atmosphere, and his behavior when he faced the camera was very graceful. When we talked to him, we found out that he is a photographer and is very stoic about his creations. I could clearly sense his uncompromising attitude toward picture creation. One of the items worn during the shoot was a "Despatch Rider's Coat" by Babur, a special order from ADAM ET ROPÉ. Originally inspired by the motorcycle coats worn by British soldiers in the 1940s, it is characterized by its spacious A-line silhouette. The material used for this coat has been changed from the standard oiled cotton to a two-layer polyester cotton with excellent water repellency and wind resistance, and the details have been simplified to fit the current era without altering the silhouette. I wanted to shoot at a bowling alley for a feature article, and "Sasazuka Bowl" was the first place that came to mind when I thought of bowling alleys in the city center, so I made an appointment to shoot there. I met Mr. Oshiro of "Sasazuka Bowl" for the first time in a long time during the location scouting before the shoot, and we had not seen each other since our previous jobs. When I got home, I looked at the magazine we had corresponded with back then, which was published in 2010, so it had been about 12 years since we had last met. On the way home after the photo shoot, I was browsing in the goods corner of Sasazuka Bowl and found a reflector made of bowling pins collaborated with a bicycle store, Blue Rag.
