Have a Mechanical Watch.
One of the most fashionable objects of taste is the mechanical watch.
In today's world of cell phones, it is not always necessary to wear one,
There are no amazing features there.
But if you are particular about your clothes, you will want to have a good mechanical watch.
It is a simple tool for checking the time, which is why it can be used for a long time, and because the story of the person who wears it is engraved on it.
You may need to be prepared for that when you buy,
I don't think you will regret growing taller if you find something that fits you.
Why don't you take a look at a part of that world first?

OMEGA DE VILLE PRESTIGE

REVERSO TRIBUTE
DUOFACE CALENDAR
The Reverso, an acknowledged icon since 1931, has a new edition. The Reverso Tribute Duo Calendar is the newest addition to the iconic Reverso line, which was created in 1931. The main attraction is the marriage of the brand's signature complication, the triple calendar, and the Duo Concept. The Duo Concept is a mechanism that allows a second time zone to be displayed on two dials, one on the front and the other on the back. The front is a grained silver dial with polished hour and minute hands and indices, while the back is a sunray gray dial with new hour markers. It's a contrast that makes the Reverso a pleasure to wear. The case is available in stainless steel or 18K pink gold.

The "H Watch" designed by product designer Philippe Mouquet in 1996 has been deepened like the jet-black color on its body over a quarter of a century. The case is made of grade 5 titanium with 99% titanium content, and the caliber is the H1912 mechanical self-winding movement from the Hermès Manufacture. The black tone-on-tone is not to be missed. The body of the watch, which is lavishly decorated with brushed and satin-finished craftsmen's techniques, exudes a "jet-black" color. PROFESSIONAL 200
The Aquaracer, which began as a diver's watch (Ref. 844) in 1978, is a masterpiece in the same league as the TAG Heuer Carrera and Monaco. --The new Aquaracer Professional 200 retains the design codes established almost half a century ago: unidirectional rotating bezel, screw-down crown, luminescent indexes, sapphire crystal, double safety clasp, and water-resistance in excess of 200 meters. The scale has been advanced. The more compact 40mm-diameter stainless steel case, metal inserts, polished links... The result is a luxury tool watch with all the right features. Engraved on the caseback is a compass. It is a metaphor for a man who never forgets his adventurous spirit.

Grand Seiko SBGW291
The regular model of the 44GS Contemporary Design was released. The smallest case diameter (36.5 mm) in the history of the 44GS, which is the smallest in the history of the 44GS, has been a hit with connoisseurs, and the gray-toned color palette gives the watch a dignified appearance. The "44GS," born in 1967, is a model that established the "Seiko Style," a unique design grammar of Grand Seiko that sublimated the Japanese sense of aesthetics, which is evident in the undistorted rough polishing, into a product. The "Grand Seiko GS" is a model that established the "Seiko Style", a unique design grammar of Grand Seiko. In other words, the "dignified appearance" was inherent in the watch, and the "44GS Contemporary Design" has sharpened it. The lion's emblem on the case back is a striking feature.

INTERVIEW
Current time in the connoisseur's hand.

Out of the world of fashion,
From Athletes to Essential Workers,
people who struggle in various fields.
Yosuke Aizawa supports the company with the power of design.
His career has been illustrious, though,
The watch that adorns his hand is,
Never as a symbol of its success.
It is not there.
What criteria does he use to select his watches?
What kind of romance did you find there?

Born in Saitama, Japan in 1977. Born to a designer father, he also studied textile design and started "White Mountaineering" in 2006. As an individual, he has been involved in the direction of domestic and international brands and companies, and currently serves on the board of directors of Hokkaido Consadole Sapporo, for which he was also in charge of uniform design.
Instagram:@yosukeaizawa

When was your first experience with watches, and what kind of models were they?
Aizawa: I think the first one was "Swatch. I was in my first year of high school. There was a lot of excitement in magazines like "Boon," and there was a trend to choose between Casio's "Data Bank" and "Swatch. I think I bought both. I think I also bought a G-Shock.
At that time, there was a mood like a toy watch boom, wasn't there?
Aizawa: That's right. I didn't have a lot of money, so when I asked what a high school student could buy with his allowance, it was something like that.
Do you remember the feeling of putting a watch on your wrist for the first time?
Aizawa: I simply felt like an adult. It was a time when everyone wore a watch when they were in high school or so. Later, when I was a college student, I worked hard and bought a (Omega) "Seamaster," and I guess I wore that for quite a long time.
-Is there a turning point when you realized the necessity of watches for your own style and work?
Aizawa: Well... My father passed away when I was still working at my former company, and I inherited this "Speedmaster" as a legacy. My father was not a big fan of luxury watches, but he had an interesting watch, and that was all that was left at the end. I thought, "Oh, I like this kind of watch. That was when I was about 25 or 26 years old. I didn't have a lot of money at the time, so I couldn't afford to buy a watch myself, but that was probably when I started to think that watches were nice.

OMEGA
Speedmaster
The Speedmaster, which Mr. Aizawa himself has spent the most time with, is one of the few mementos of his late father. I rarely wear it anymore, but I will never part with it.
-I think it was a great opportunity for me to get emotionally involved in the project.
Aizawa: By the time I had reached my current age, I was working overseas more and more, and I noticed that the brand owners and designers I met in my various activities were all wearing unique watches, which really caught my attention. So I decided to buy myself a nice watch, and I bought a Jaeger-LeCoultre Polaris, which had just been reissued. I bought a Polaris, which had just been reissued, and I was asked by people I met on the job, "Is that the new one? I was asked by people I met at work, "Is that a new one? In my mind, there is a similarity between soccer conversation and watch conversation. It is something that is easy for men to understand and have as a trigger for communication.

ZENITH
Model Unknown
Zenith in the 60s, model name unknown. He bought it at a local antique store when he visited Cesena, a town in north-central Italy, on business. It stopped right away, and I spent about a year overhauling it (laughs).

OMEGA
Speedmaster MARK II
The gray dial with luminescent orange indexes and second hand is a retro-modern design. It was given to me by an Italian representative when I was working for [HUNTING WORLD].
It might be similar to the youth T-shirts and caps of the street. It would be more interesting for the recipient to have a watch that reflects his/her personality in a deeper way, not just as a status symbol.
Aizawa: I don't care about status at all. I treat even good watches very roughly (laugh) and just throw them in my bag. I have no intention of selling them second-hand. Besides, I don't really like the feeling of an investment project. For example, with Rolex, I always think, "Can I buy it? Can I afford it? I don't like the idea of a second hand. Rather, I look at it from the perspective of whether or not there is a story behind it.
-It tends to be a topic of conversation, like if you are lucky enough to buy a brand new "Patek Philippe" and you can make a huge profit just by selling it as it is.
Aizawa: I understand, but I think it's kind of sad. I think I have a designer's point of view, but I still want to value the story of the product. The "Nautilus" is a wonderful watch, and I would like to have one someday, but not now. I also bought an Audemars Piguet watch, but I found it somewhat difficult to wear and thought, "This doesn't suit me at all right now," and I have kept my distance from it.
-I think it was the "Royal Oak" with the gray dial, wasn't it?
Aizawa: That's right. I think I might do it again when I get older, say in my 50s or 60s. I think it is like an investment in yourself. A car loses value the more it is driven, but a watch is not an expendable item. I don't wear necklaces or earrings very often, so I think of my watch as my only accessory. So I want to link my watch to my fashion, my house, my car, and so on.

Patek Philippe
Gondolo
The "Gondolo" differs in form from the more decorative current model. I found it when I was looking for a simple rectangular watch," he says. I usually wear it with a black suit."
-What is the most important aspect in selecting a watch for you?
Aizawa: It's about whether it fits me or not. I don't want to have only my arms walking alone. I also try to research the background of the brand and model to see if there is something I can relate to. I rarely try to measure by price or scarcity.
-but you don't simply have an aversion to being upscale, do you?
Aizawa: I may not be interested in second-hand pieces whose prices have gone up too much. It is difficult now that art and watches have become money games as investment targets, but as a person who makes things from a distance, I think it is important to have a fair value. Except for antique watches, I prefer to buy from the brand's store as much as possible. I have a rule in my mind that I buy from authorized stores whenever possible.
-I see. I think it is true that it is very difficult for an amateur to properly discern the true value of a complicated watch such as a mechanical watch, so I can understand why you would want to rely on the brand name or the name of the brand.
Aizawa: I don't know that much about the contents. I understand that there is romance in the movement, for example, but I prefer the design, form, and story behind it, rather than the engine, like an enthusiast in the case of a car. Watches are interesting because you can imagine them. I can imagine what the person is like. I also like snowboarding and playing tennis, but if I wore an expensive mechanical watch, people would think that I am a person who does not think much. I think it is important that a watch fits the person who wears it, and if you wear it all the time, it will become more like you.
Swatch
ONCE AGAIN
CASIO
G-SHOCK
(2nd photo)
These two watches are staples for active and athletic scenes. The Swatch is for tennis, and the tough G-Shock is for snowboarding.

OMEGA × Swatch
MOONSWATCH
The collaboration between watchmakers is still a hot topic. I've always been a fan of both Omega and Swatch, so I wanted to have one of these. I bought two watches, a Saturn and a Mercury.
-Is there a watch that you are interested in at the moment, or a model you would like to wear someday?
Aizawa: Well...I don't think I have one right now. If I had to say, I have never worn a German watch, so I would like to have a Lange & Söhne "Zeitwerk," but I don't think it would suit me at this time. I think that watch wouldn't look good on me if I drove an SUV, and I wonder if it would look good on me when I am about 60 years old. I'm concerned about the fit of all these things.
-What criteria do you use to choose the watch of the day? Is it the place you are going? Or do you give priority to matching it with your own clothes?
Aizawa: I usually wear the same kind of clothes, but I actually change the material, silhouette, etc., depending on my mood that day. I also choose a watch at the same time. I also match my outfit to the people I meet, or maybe the car I'm driving at the time. I like to change my car depending on the situation, such as when I am going for a drive in the mountains today, when I have an important project at work, or when I am going to watch a soccer game.
-What kind of car do you drive now?
Aizawa: The one I drive the most is the (Porsche) "964. Of all the watches I brought today, I think the "Transatlantique" (by Breguet) fits it best. I don't like large watches because they don't fit when I hold the steering wheel. (A case diameter of up to 40 mm would be fine.

Breguet
Type XX
(Transatlantique)
This pilot's watch was designed for the French Naval Air Force and has an iconic date display at the 6 o'clock position. I have been wearing jackets more and more, so I wanted to wear a watch with this kind of history.
-What else do you like about your car/watch combination?
Aizawa: I have another new "Defender" (Land Rover), and when I drive it, I'd like to have a "Grand Seiko" or something like that.

Grand Seiko
Evolution 9 Collection "SBGE283
This sporty GMT model from Grand Seiko is accented with a power reserve indicator. The watch was produced at the manufacture in Shiojiri, Nagano Prefecture. I really sympathize with that kind of localism.
-I am also considering German watches such as Lange & Söhne, which you mentioned earlier, but I am also attracted to domestic watches.
Aizawa: Like I said in the beginning, the things you could buy when you were young were things like "data banks" and "G-shocks. I also like Japanese cars, and the one in my studio in Karuizawa is a Subaru, and I used to drive a Lexus. I think Japanese craftsmanship is the best in Asia, and I wanted to make watches in my own image, which is why I started working with Seiko. Besides, Rolex, for example, is very common with other people, isn't it? I thought it would be interesting to wear a "Grand Seiko" while everyone else is wearing a "Rolex. Well, I am completely self-satisfied.

White Mountaineering × SEIKO
× GIUGIARO DESIGN
FIRST MODEL(LEFT)
SECOND MODEL(RIGHT)
THIRD MODEL(CENTER)
The three-part collaborative series by "White Mountaineering" and "Seiko" features an all-black design. I have always loved Giugiaro's designs, and we were approached at the timing of the reissue of his work.
-It's interesting to have both a sense of connoisseurship and a sense of being a bitch (laughs).
Aizawa: (laughs). Watches are a reflection of a person's background, aren't they? Many of them are expensive, so in a sense, they are easy targets of criticism, but I think it is the coolest when that is balanced with individuality. I generally remember why I bought that watch. The job I was doing at the time, the city I visited, and so on. I like watches that leave such memories behind.
